Brilliant interview again. The T&T insights and his realization that Movement 2 sounds like Industrial Revolution 2, you being frank about not liking stuff and JMJ being very open and positive about it. A much more humane conversation that the usual printed stuff.

At 70, the most famous French electro musician confirms this autumn his new activity with Equinoxe Infinity - in reference to Equinoxe, his 1978 classic - his fourth album since 2015. Shortly before, Jean-Michel Jarre has delivered a two-volume anthology (Planet Jarre) celebrating his fifty-year career. Double opportunity for him to express himself, in his Parisian home, on a solitary course, started in 1968 as laboratory assistant of the Musical Research Group (GRM).

I'm not sure if he legit forgot about the album, or prefers to be ignorant regarding T&T. Not remembering Vintage, despite having played it quite a few times throughout the 2012/2013 tours seems unlikely to me since people always seemed to have a blast with the track. Hell, it was even the encore at the Monaco event. I wouldn't blame him if he's being ignorant regarding the album, most of it is just alright at best. But to throw the entire thing under the bus seems unfair to the handful of legit good tracks on it.

But that's just me I guess...

Maybe he was just messing with Fiona a bit? She seemed to really love that Vintage track.

From my personal point of view, the highlights of this in-depth interview are his revelations about the making of "Waiting for Cousteau" (introduced by his idiosincrasy towards music played in restaurants) and his "freudian" remotion of the T&T tracks.
I've always thought that the piano notes were played by him while it's likely the software algorithm had the task to trigger the different effects over the pad. His answer confirms what I've written in my review of "Equinoxe infinity" (to be released on an Italian magazine) when comparing that ambient piece with the last track of the new album.
It's also a singular coincidence that he considered to quit composing music and become a full time painter just after our meeting in summer 2016 (maybe a side-effect of my artbook and my question about his first exhibition?)
