2 questions concerning the vinyl:
1. Is side B of Oxygene 7-13 with the "different" Oxygene 10 intro?
2. Someone on superdeluxeedition.com posted that 3 of the 6 sides are off-centre (with side 2 of Oxygene 1 being the worst). Someone here has the same experience?

There's a couple of extra notes before the actual music starts. It's nothing mind blowing, but it's enjoyable when I heard it for the first time.

Would love to check that for you, but don't have a record player plus I returned the box set for an exchange.

I still haven't replaced my busted record player, but I can still give it a try. I should easily be able to hear the moment even if it's at half speed...

Vinyl-unrelated, but speaking of the trilogy release:
- the Oxygene 17 single is actually quieter than the CD version, which is ~2dB louder than the single
- Oxygene 7-13 CD is terrible compared to the MP3 copy I've been listening to for the past 20 years, there's obviously a big treble boost and I can literally hear high frequency white noise between the first notes of Oxygene 7. Oxygene 8 lead sounds are no longer gentle, they are jarring.

Just got the Trilogy 24bit/48kHz flac's and they all sounds as loud as described above.
The first laserharp notes of Oxy Pt. 7 kind of breaks because of distortion.
However I think Oxy Pt. 5 sounds pretty cool this way (it's a quieter track in itself). A bit "punchier" then what I'm used to.
I save the first listening of Oxygene 3 until my vinyls has arrived.

When you have synths, it is easy to come up with the kind of sounds and simplistic chord progressions that this latest album offers. I can do it in a couple of minutes

It has a real finality to it, for me. My first reaction after listing to the album was 'ah man he's going to retire with this'

Well, each to their own. Personally if anyone asks me to point them towards a JMJ track, I tell them to listen to Ethnicolor 1. For me it's a work of true genius, a towering achievement.
Anyway, there seems to be a lack of reviews of Oxygene 3 in the mainstream press.
But I like this guy's review. Obviously I don't agree with everything he says (does any JMJ fan agree with any other?!), but he seems knowledgeable and I agree with him that the album is all foreplay, and no climax!

Yes I couldn't help myself, (so much emotion) cried whilst imaging a setting sun but love the crackling fire.
I don't know if it's been mentioned elsewhere but we heard JmJ on an interview on Radio 4's Loose ends:
