Amazon.co.uk informed that they've shipped me the CD. Of course, that means I still have to listen to it on Spotify first thing Saturday morning (won't have time tomorrow) - as with PSB's Super - but eh, at least I won't have to worry about MyPLayDirect's shenanigans anymore.

My conclusion and personal taste: Electronica 1 is better than Electronica 2.

Their latest album is far from dark. In fact, they wrote more than 20 songs for the album and ended up using 12 of them, the others were either too 'poppy' or too 'dark'. And Super is rather poppy. I'm very interested in their more sinister work, the album Fundamental (already 10 years old, released in 2006) is probably their darkest work and one of my favorite albums.

I'll have to check that one out then. We play all their stuff from time to time at work, but I don't remember anything ever grabbing me this way on the depressing scale. Thanks for the recommendation!

One of the main things that has always attracted me to Jarre and certain electronica artists is the fact that vocals can be scarce, or non existent. I'm primarily a metal head, although I do love other genres as well. For me I enjoy stuff without vocals because I don't want anyone telling me what to think, or give me any ideas besides the music (in electronica). Maybe that's why this album will take a bit to get used to. There are a lot of songs with vocals or actual lyrics. That doesn't mean I hate it, but my personal tastes seem to prefer things that can float by. Does anyone else have this or feel this way?

Not necessary with this Electronica Project. I have in mind that this are collaborations and not standard Jarre-tracks like Oxygene or Rendez-Vous for example. fans claim that this tracks/songs are far away from the real Jarre. That's true but not necessary bad. I guess the next album of him will be more classical Jarre-style.

Im totally into people doing what they want to do, and in Jarre's case I love him for that. I personally wish I could just tone down the vocals on everything. haha!

For that reason I love him too. I think he really don't care what others think about his music.
