Don't say that. It's a dirty word.
Nah, Blu-ray sounds more dirty, almost porno-ish.
Of course DTS would fit on a DVD, most movies got it.
porno-ish eh?? Ah I see where this is going.

no, not most movies got it, but it shouldn't be an issue of space on a DVD when it comes to including the DTS soundtrack. There's always a second layer for that extra space needed

If the running times quoted are accurate, to maintain the HD quality visuals might preclude using DTS, which would use more space than standard Dolby 5.1.
The China DVD had the two concert performances split over two discs, and the extras on the second disc.

Oh, great! Here I was thinking I should have bought the 2D DVD edition for today and 3D DVD edition for the future

Yes, without the glasses it's 2D... but I don't wanna sit and watch a screen that is green and red.

According to JarreUK it's just a regular 2D version

From JarreUK:
'OXYGÈNE - LIVE IN YOUR LIVING ROOM', comes in 3 separate editions comprising of:-
* Audio CD - featuring a new master recording of the original score, recorded, mixed & mastered in High Definition 24-Bit/96KHz.
* Audio CD + DVD of live performance in 2D with Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound or PCM Stereo + bonus features.
* Limited Edition Audio CD + DVD of live performance in Stereoscopic 3D + live performance in 2D, both with Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound or PCM Stereo + bonus features + 2 pairs of 3D glasses."
So it would seem the only reason to buy the CD + 2D DVD version is if you don't want to see the DVD in 3D, since the CD + 3D DVD set has the 2D version on it as well.
I guess we will be getting all the versions anyway

Or the 3D is simply just a bonus version (It is already a Limited Edition) and the 2D is just the ordinary release. I know that was another record company etc. but T&T did also come in a special Limited Edition with 5.1 surround.

Audio CD + DVD of live performance in 2D with Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound or PCM Stereo + bonus features.
That the live performance is on the audio CD, is apparently not the case, according to the cover.

Who's gonna buy the CD alone, now?

I will... it still is in another casing I suppose, and another catalogue number

Ludicrous!
I had hoped to be able to pop the live performance in an ordinary CD-player as well.

Wow! Variation III gives to me the same kind of feeling of when i was discovering Jarre´s discography!
Really, Variaion is a new track, no a variation.

I am with you on this one,

.

The CD would be an additional benefit to something that is already going to be great.

The cherry on the cake.
