Maybe it something to do with that I'm a total newbie when it comes to aftertouch.

I barely use it, but I notice when playing an el.guitar sound on my JD, pressing a little harder triggers this overdrive effect...

It could also be a setting of your patches... "aftertouch sensitivity"

I never use aftertouch personally, to the point that I disabled the aftertouch on my XP80. When I was hitting some keys too hard, it was sending aftertouch messages to the sequencer and it was quite annoying. I use an expression pedal instead, it's much better in many cases.

If I remember well, these are just some VCS noises and pads used in those time interludes. Also some FJAS pads I think.

The nicest of those FR patches are definately the 12DOTS patches, the Chronologie lead sounds and the Aero pad.

Aftertouch in JD800 really suxxx... You have to press keys VERY HARD to hear it. But there is a small trick to make aftertouch better. There are four resistors R25-28 near IC10. All You need to do is to change R27 resistor to 200-300 kOhm to fix it

Very wonderfull synth but effectively aftertouch is very hard to comming

I got it yesterday for 350 euros - it's not mint, but it's ok (some buttons need cleaning, etc.)

Thanks, just read that it is sometimes impossible to repair the buttons/sliders. The 3 and 4 button in the sound bank do not react...and the cutoff slider is skipping some points. I will take it to the repair shop, just would be very dissapointed to learn it's imossible to fix
