True, but I still think it's an unfair name that some put on him. Music for Supermarkets would have been the first example of an album with lots of preset sounds on it, but it sounded like nothing else - it still does - Zoolook likewise. T&T was an example of JMJ giving
too much deference to the prevailing music scene IMO.
It is only a nickname, which was penned a long time ago by others. There is no denying that he has used his fair share of presets through his albums, and this is what people have picked upon. Nothing bad about that, but then there is nothing original about that. How many other musicians have done exactly the same.

I think that nowadays there already are so many different types of electronic sounds available that what ever "new" sound you're trying to create, some people are still going to say; "just an other preset".

How many percentage would you give that Jarre will release the forthcoming albums by using concert promoters, just like Madonna?
So, no Warner, Sony, EMI or Universal, just direct distribution.

I am more for then against. Nice comparison between Madonna and JMJ.

Does that really matter? The more important issue is, that the albums are going to be released.

I believe so, because JMJ is in good shape (I guess)

It better be good.
15 years of lame albums and it's about time he gave something back to the fans that has some substance.
After all, he has one of the greatest collections of working synthesizers at his disposal, let's not have another bundle of recordings of him messing around with the latest 'do-it-all' box with not much direction.

Well, Oxygene 7-13 and Metamorphoses are decent albums, there are some superb tracks at the Vizitors' RV in Space concert in 2001, Geometry of Love is OK and Oxygene's Variation 3 is one of the best tracks he's ever made. So granted, his output hasn't been as consistant as it used to be, but it's far from lame.
