JEAN MICHEL JARRE: ROYAL ALBERT HALL CONCERT

EMI Marketing UK & 3a Entertainment have confirmed to JARRE UK today, that Jean Michel Jarre will officially bring his 'OXYGENE' Concert to the Royal Albert Hall, London, UK, on Sunday 30th March 2008.

According to the Official Press Release, Jean Michel Jarre will continue to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of his 'OXYGENE' Album, by performing the entire masterpiece, 'LIVE', at the Royal Albert Hall, using more than 50 of his original Vintage Analogue Synthesizers, accompanied on stage by the French Musicians Francis Rimbert, Claude Samard & Dominique Perrier.

This will be the first time that Jean Michel Jarre has performed in the UK in over a decade. Coincidentally, his last performances in the UK were for the 20th Anniversary of 'OXYGENE', as part of his 'OXYGENE TOUR' in 1997.

Jean Michel Jarre's 'OXYGENE' Concert will take place at 20:00 (8:00pm) at the Royal Albert Hall, London, UK on Sunday 30th March 2008, Tickets for which will go on sale from 9:00am on Monday 21st January 2008, priced at £45, £55, £65 & £75 (all subject to booking fee), either from Bookings Direct (http://www.bookingsdirect.com), or by Phone on +44 (0)870 735 5000 (24 Hours).

As today's Official Press Release failed to indicate the Seating Plan that the above Ticket Prices related to, JARRE UK contacted the Royal Albert Hall today, and asked them kindly to provide further information. Based on the information kindly supplied, JARRE UK has created a Seating Plan, available above, in which the following Ticket Prices are shown clearly:-

Arena, Centre Stalls & Side Stalls - £75
Loggia Boxes, Grand Tier Boxes - £100 (Reserved For Invited Guests)
2nd Tier Boxes - £75
Front Circle - £65
Rear Circle - £55
Circle (Restricted View) - £45

£45? Jesus. The tickets with a decent view are even more. This is, at least for me as a student, ridiculously overpriced. The price for the Paris concerts was much more reasonable, where they maxed out at £38. I don't know if I can afford this...

I've been to the RAH and these £45 tickets are Sh**. Thank you Jean Michel for rewarding me for the last 17 years of loyalty = ie. 17 years wasted. Does JMJ really think that he's such a god that'll we'll spend £100(sorry £75 as i'm not an invited guest) just to see him? Count me out.

Completely agree. I went to a Christmas concert at the Albert Hall last year and it cost £10 for restricted view tickets! !

The restricted view seats are right at the back and right at the top. They are fine if you just want to listen but the view is likely to be restricted mostly to Francis Rimbert (or Dominique Perrier depending what side of the hall you are on!).

Still I'll be going no matter what - just need to decide how stupid I'm going to be with the seating! I'm certainly not paying £45 for a view like that! !

Good luck, i'm not going full stop. £45 for an arena ticket = yes, £75 = No way!

It looks like JMJ is trying to appeal to the Yuppies, ie, more money than sense! Who've never bought a Jarre album in there lives but have to be there because it's £100 a ticket!

It's true... I've just checked prices for Chris Rea (a man who has sold some 30 million albums) a few days before:

Grand Tier £ 30.00
Stalls £ 27.50
Front Arena £ 27.50
Rear Arena £ 27.50
Front Circle £ 27.50
Rear Circle £ 27.50
Restricted View Circle £ 25.00
Gallery (Standing) £ 25.00

Jarre is charging almost DOUBLE for the restricted seating ! !

What's going on? I've seen Chris Rea at the Albert Hall before and he'll sell it out easily -tickets are priced for his loyal fan base.

What's JMJ playing at? !

Yes, I do feel THAT bad about it. The concerts in Paris were a lot cheaper. I know several people that would love to see JMJ who have already ruled themselves out purely on cost alone. This isn't a concert for the fans or the man in the street.

OMG!! He sold 30 million albums just a few days before!!!? That must definitely give him an entrance in the Guinnes book of records!!! Not even Michael Jackson can top that!!!

But what if this is going to be a different concert from a visual point of view then what the Marigny shows were?
He use to try out new tricks from time to time...maybe the problem is that we just don't understand yet what we're going to pay for?

Ok £45 didn't seem that bad,but when you Look at the seating plans and Views according to the Price its pretty ridiculous,I'm more than Happy to pay for the Loggia Box's seating,given the Price of some of the other seats,for an extra £25 you get a better view(Dependant on where you get seated),plus your not so cramped in the box,But it seems these are Reserved for Invited guests Only.

I'd be very surprised if he sells many tickets at those prices.Lets face it if those of you who are real fans are not going to buy tickets who is going to pay those prices??After travelling expenses to London for Most fans it will be quite expensive for some.

I could have gone to Paris to see him,but thought there was defiently the UK in the balance so held off,given the Prices of these tickets it would have worked out cheaper to have flown to Paris to see him and in a more Intimate Venue.

Well at least theres not gonna be a jam on the Phone lines on Monday then

More chance of me getting through to get tickets !!
