When will we hear a melody with vocoder singing?

The vocoder is not great... I never managed to do a vocoder sound like in Revolutions ("TV, no TV"... that stuff). Sadly there's no indication of the input level, maybe the signal was to weak... I should try sending a higher sound level with my mic pre-amp.

Hmmm, I love the Ion's vocoder and IMO is much superior to the mK's! It's great for the typical The Robots sound, does that very very well.
I've managed to get a good sound from plugging my mic straight into the the right Input jack...

Yes I did that too. I should experiment a bit further.

You should use a distortion or ringmodulator for those voices. It really works!

I never thought about that, I will try that.

It's my solution for singing Revolution without having a vocoder

As the ION has editable sounds, is there anyway of being able to return the synth back to it's factory preset (for anyone who has an ION). I can't find nothing in the manual that mentions this, so Im just wondering if it can be done.

Sadly not. The original sounds aren't in the memory of the synth. You have to load them bank by bank via the SysEx files available on the Alesis website (www.alesis.com).
