It looks frightful.

What that video also shows, apart from all those gases, steam and ash being sent sky high, also the amount of water pouring from around the volcano due to heat melting the ice.

People (goverments and protection agencies) are quick off the mark to say how much damage mankind is doing to our planet. Yet, here is mother nature in all her chilling splendour doing more damage in one week than man had done in 50 years. The reprocusions from this volcano could last years, maybe decades even.

We must kill mother nature before it's too late!

Were in our 6th day of disruptions. They say it is going into tomorrow (Tuesday). Some test planes have been sent up and they are currently being examined to see what damage has occured.

I have noticed it more today, but there is a constant burning smell in the air.

Big airline companies are doing what it takes to be allowed to launch their flights again. They're loosing hundreds of billions every day in cancelled flights.
Fly at your own risk...I'll bet that planes are going to drop like dead flies from the sky one day.

However now seismologists on Iceland has spotted more lava and less smoke and ash.
They assume that Eyjafjallajökull is entering a new phase which will make the situation for European air traffic easier within a day or two.

Im tired of news about passive airplanes. Im against airvehicles, so Im quite amused by the situation. Well except for the unforseen problems it might have caused to the people on Iceland.

I guess it's like the time when before aircraft took to the skies - it's GLORIOUS! The birds are loving it, there are no criss-cross vapour trails across the sky and although it IS driving me crackers (living on the flightpath to Manchester airport), I am finding that I'm getting used to it somehow... although, that will change when they allow planes to take off again..

However, the upside is, internal travel here by coach or by train is well up on what it usually is and I'll bet the ferry companies are loving it too

They reckon that the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere from the volcano isn't as much as whats dumped up there by aircraft and that 200,000 tons of CO2 have been saved *each day* by the planes being grounded...
