I am outnumbered for a good reason. Not enough females on the forum.

Got a nice coloured sunset tonight,tried to take a pic but camera batteries dead.
My car windscreen has a very light layer of brownish dust on it.

I got a feeling this will go on for a few days yet,I feel sorry for all those people stranded.
They are now saying restrictions in place in the UK till 0700 Sunday,bet that will change before the morning.

I haven't seen any signs of ash, but it smells funny outside today.

I was right,restrictions now extended till 1300 Sunday.

Can't really see any ash in the sky,the sunset earlier was a funny colour & earlier on in the day the sky was like a dirty blue & you could see there was a haze.

Must admit it smelt funny outside last night.
If it reaches ground level where you are you'll probably notice a very thin dust on car windscreens of a light brown,greyish colour.

Anyone else begining to think that this whole volcanic ash thing is getting a bit out of hand now and something smells a bit funny about it all (excuse the pun). OK, no denying that a volcano has erupted in Iceland. No denying it has churned up huge ash clouds. But come on FFS, how the hell does a quater of the worlds airspace just simply grind to a halt for days. Due to this volcano, agencys are now controlling how we get about. Telling us the harm that flying will cause. Got us excatly where they want us - in turmoil. We are being monopolised and spoon fed stories via the media. Or I am being paranoid.

Someone here says there is a plane in the sky and it has not moved for the last 30 minutes. But I am convinced it's a small half of the moon. Paranoia.

Hope the volcano activity go down till UK dates...

Surely this has happened before. As with everything else, people just didn't panic back in the days.

I am not panicking.

It's been extended into Monday now, but news reports state the eruptions are intensifying.

Iceland owes the UK £millions. When we said we wanted cash we said CASH, nothing else.

No one will pay apart from maybe the taxpayer from either side.

"The ash cloud is moving in several thousand kilometers altitude. But down at ground level, there are no signs of ash - the air is actually cleaner than normal", says NERI (National Environmental Research Institute).

UK weather has said we will get some rain later - grey rain. Up in Scotland, people have reported grey dust on cars and a odd smell in the air. (no comment)

We had a small amount of dust on cars last night,Newquay Airport reported dust on planes.
Went to pick the wife up from work at 10pm last night & there was like a haze in the air & the air felt very dry.
Clear sky here today,but it still has that 'dirty' look to it.
Apparently they are supposed to be doing test flights sometime today in the UK.
