Having seen the rehearsal reels and other behind the scenes stuff recently, esp. hints about the refreshed track list I am now starting to get excited 😊
Congrats! Get the party on!
Even if I have some displeasure toward the circumstances of this tour project, I say we should appreciate he's touring.

I sort of wonder if Claude and Adiescar will be on stage too. From the lighting design and lasers etc, it seems like it -might- be a solo tour?

yeah, that's my suspicion too.

I'm loving the fun, cartoon-like graphics. Going way back to Place de la Concorde, the visuals and ambiguous pop-art style graphics of a JMJ show have always been intriguing to me. Animals, plants, space imagery, astronauts, figures from history – John Lennon, Alfred Hitchcock, Picasso and more. The Docklands graphics were stunning, most of them missed in the VHS edit – boo! – but so much about the history of that part of east Lonon. In the Electronica era, everything went too geometric, just simple shapes and colours. I loved what he did for Bratislava and La Rochelle, and this looks like another step in that direction. Should be great!

I'd be disappointed (a little) if it was a solo show. Place de La Concorde (1979), Notre-Dame (2020/21), Élysée Palace (2021), and Versailles (2023) were all just one person surrounding by a bunch of kit - were there any others?

But it isn't so convincing as a performance. When he shares the stage with other musicians - and more, such as choirs, orchestras, giant marionettes and Japanese dancers - his shows are much better.

So it looks from the Helsinki timetable that the concert might only be 90 minutes...

Or perhaps a festival-format duration for Oslo, Helsinki, Seville and Stuttgart...?

Aren't all the shows this summer part of a festival event of some sort? I know in Brussels it's a two-day event and JMJ is the second night, with Neil Young the night before. I assumed all of these summer shows are just one slot as part of established events.

Interesting. The one in Poland is a part of a festival; The one in Sofia... not sure: there's an "AURA festival" from 20.06 to 22.06, but JMJ (23.06) doesn't seem to be a part of it. There's also an AIR concert there the following night. In Pula there's a bunch of "Rocks & Stars" concerts from 25.06 to 29.06, but again, JMJ (28.06) is not a part of this.

For Seville is 90min. It starts at 22:30 and at 00:00 there is a DJ set.
