Interview – JEAN-MICHEL JARRE: Sound, image and artificial intelligence

The sounds of Jean-Michel Jarre accompanied my childhood. They were everywhere: in the car with my father, on the radio, like an implicit soundtrack of the years when you grow up without yet knowing what you are listening to.

Today, after decades, I meet him in person, but in a different guise: not that of a pioneer of electronic music, but of visual artist, at his first exhibition of visual art.

"Promptitude", staged at MEET in Milan, is a project that combines poetry, image and artificial intelligence.
Jarre, who has always been in dialogue with technology, explores its limits and drifts with the naturalness of those who have never suffered the future, but have inhabited it with curiosity and vision.
What drives it, today as then, is not nostalgia, but an idea of creation that changes form without losing intensity.
