Yes, there is a SLIGHT difference between the two.
The lead on the original LP has more "release" on the envelope, or it sounds that way. It flows more. Listening again, I'm really not so sure about this actually, the rest is DEFINITELY true though.
The descending arp is also missing the remaster's vibrato..
Also, some of the classic EMS warbles are different, due to the nature of the synths.

The ending is also different, more power in it.

I don't know if it's my stereo, but it does sound as though the whole thing has been pitched up a little. Also, part 7 sounds a little different, but it might be my turntable again.

Ok, so now I've had the time to try recording the LP's as good as I at the moment can do. (Bevare) :lol: No, it doesn't says anything on the "MAZUR" vinyl cover, but it really clearly is a difference here!

Original LP version [-78]

Musik Aus zeit und raum_Equinoxe p.5 [new version -83]

Now, the only question is; is the cd-version any of these or a version of its own ? :roll: :wink:

The CD version is different from those.. the original vinyl one doesn't seem to have that much Eminent going on. ;)

I think you mixed the titles or what? :)

The first one (with the weird stereo delay mixing which makes it sound different) is the one I have on the 97 remaster and the second is the version I know as the 78 version.

Uh-oh. I think you recorded them on 45RPM rather than 33RPM. Its all horribly fast! :P

It's the correct titles of the records that I bought in the end of the 80's.
I'll guess the vinyl is getting pretty worn out thrue the years...I dunno.
I don't have the specific numbers of the albums right now...can they perhaps be some imports? The only thing I know is that the original is from Dreyfus and MAZUR is a Polydor.

Well, ya know...the player is a very old one (from the 70's) and the rim has only been exchanged one time, what I know of... :D

Doesn't anybody have a link to the cd-version or what??
This is getting more and more confusing... :P

I just remember someone eralier in this thread told the remasters didn't contain the original. But the 78 version from the rareties album doesn't fit in this situation, because thats not the same as your 78 version... hmm

Nononononono...

The Rarities one is the '78 single. The single is the same as the remaster. However, the different one is the one found on the actual LP.

Ok that makes sense. If you know the musicvideo version, which is the same as the 97remaster. The recordings from Concorde place is the same.

Ah...just what I was suspicious about from the beginning. Well...it could also be a "scandinavian release" thing.
Are the tracks recorded in one go on the cd or are they "cut off" from each other? Just curious...
I have some checking of the record players rpm to do... :)
