Most important thing is pw width. It gives the "character" to the sound... I'll post some samples soon

ok, so i will try to ajust PW. Now on the z1 i don't have any possibility to set the ramp of the filter (12db o 24 db). I have juste a LPB filter with 3 parameters: Cutoff, Resonance (each from 0 to 99). And then the classical ADSR for the Filter EG... who has a controlable intesity...

Using SAW & Pulse with Standard OSC i don't get a concluant result... may be i need the EG profiles for VCF/VCA and PITCH. And problem is that ramp can't be defined on Low Pass Filter. I don't know if it possible to use another Oscillators... z1 has a lot of them like:

Standard OSC - PWM-able Square/Saw wave - both Triangle and Sine waves can be mixed. The output can be modulated by Wave Shape - seems to be inherited from KORG 01/W's Waveshaping.

COMB Filter OSC - Makes sound by feedback delay of Input Sources and Impulse signal, etc. Feedback and High Damp parameter modifies the character and brightness of the sound.

VPM OSC - VPM seem to stand for Variable Phase Modulation, and it's basically the same synthesis with FM and related to PD. There are 2 'operators' with feedback. The Carrier has 4 waveforms. The 4 waveforms as well as Input Sources can be used as the Modulator. The sound can be further processed by Wave Shape.

Resonance OSC - Makes sound by processing the Input Sources by 4 independent resonant BPFs.

Ring Modulation OSC - The Carrier wave (SAW/SQU/TRI/SIN) is ring modulated by the Input Sources. The modulation depth can be controlled.

Cross Modulation OSC - The Carrier wave (SAW/SQU/TRI/SIN) is cross modulated by the Input Sources. The modulation depth can be controlled.

Sync Modulation OSC - The Slave wave (SAW/SQU/TRI/SIN) is Synced to the Input Sources's pitch.

I still need help...

It sounds like your problem getting the right sound is in the OSC combination. Also remember a low amount of filter cut-off (frequency). Even without the pitch EG you should be able to hear if the sound is the right, so it's an idea to focus on the sound itself before moving on to the Pitch EG.

Well, SAW 8' -10 tune & PULSE 30%-40% 16' +10 tune is the base...

I can only experiment this way with my Z1, Albino, Alpha 3... may be Prophet 600 and Alpha Juno 2...

You say a few cutoff? so 10 or 20%... and a LPF with a 24db ramp... right? We should have some "step-by-step" samples...

1. Just OSC
2. With VCF
3. With VCA
4. Finaly with pitch EG.

If you don't try yourself, you will never learn...

You are right but i don't know if the result it the same as waited with this kind of tools... OI mean that if it possible to obtain realistic results with them. May be if anyone has some soft or hard synth who gives the same sound as the original, i should be interested by the list of this synth... So.

JP 8000? JD 800? ARP2600V? Korg Z1?

Why don't you take just a few days, and decide to go fvcking around with those synths for some time. Play with every parameter, and try to listen to what it does. That's the only way to learn it. That's the other side of being a musician, you'll have to practise often until you have something nice.
Keeping asking it here doesn't really live up your creativity, and you'll never learn to make something yourself. So, GO GO GO, start up that synth, and start moving the parameters, GO!

Tip, start with the oscillators...

Well, I'm going to attempt this task using the Elektron Monomachine. I've had this synth for just over a week now and I'm amazed at it's possibilities. I just found how flexible using the arpeggiator WITH the sequencer can be... and yes, it does very very Jarre-esque patterns. :D :D :D

Absolutly right! I will work hard on each machine till sparks go out of the jack connectors! But after that i will sample them and post it on this feed!

Thanks for give me motivation ! ;) :peacemaan:

I think the sound itself is pretty easy, but to get the right pitch bend fails, mainly because most standard synths nowadays only allow a pitch envelope for the second OSC. So far I only sound it useful for brass sounds.

Working hard on this f......g bass

Hi All,

So i'm working since weeks on this bass. No way to get any f....g bass has equinoxe 7. Has any one Albino that i can send my pattern to check?

I have set all parameters as well... can any body help me?

Thanks a lot.

Regards

HI Radek,

Thanks a lot for this short excerpt and good example. So i need infos about Pitch EG. In albino for example, i can drive the pitch thru a EG. Now the unit is a semi-tone. Is the note pitched to the up or to down and about many semi-tones?

Then, what is the EG profile for the filter? In albino, i have 20'000 units for the cutoff and 0 to 1 for the EG. I have setted Attack to 0, Decay to 0 Sustain and release? each one has a course of 0 to 1...

Oscillator 1: Saw
OScillator 2: Pulse 60%-40% 1 octave down and -10 tuned.

Right?

Thanx.

Juan
