I think I am walking into problems, as there are probably people on this forum called Andy. So don't take it personally shen I sau it is uncool to call a synth Andy 
Maybe it's also because a person from one of my past school were called Andy. He was known by everyone to be a jerk and a fool who has never been cool.

The new issue of "Future Music" has a 4 page article about the A6.
Reading some of it yesterday while in the shop, FM do say that Alesis after commenting on the "rumours" of the synths end, saying that Alesis will continue making the A6 as long as people want them.

Still no news on Alesis finally discontinuing the Ion either. Very very strange. I heard pretty much solid news from Alesis UK that they were going to stop production at least UK wise.
