Me too. For both tracks 1 and 2 . I could feel something about "To the unknown man" (synth bass), drums from the ending of alpha (albedo 0.39) and kind of "sax synthesizer" (Blade Runner atmosphere) in the 1st track.

The 2nd track reminds me also Oceanic and a little bit of Soil Festivities, aquatic dance (Oceanic)... although aquatic dance also reminds me Magnetic Fields 1

It's a blu-spec CD which means it's produced with a blue laser to burn the pits in the CD master, reducing distortion in the optical read-out process.

And it has an extra booklet with japanese text (probably a translation of the text in the original booklet) and english lyrics of the songs.

Ok, thx doc. Never heard of that process before. I just saw that it's almost 3 times as expensive as the regular CD. I would guess reducing distortion to zero will not help that the mixing sounds way too darn compressed imho.

I've just got around to listening to the vinyl (new stylus finally arrived).
God Almighty what a difference. There is no comparison between this and the CD / files etc. The Dynamic Range and warmth is a revelation. Mastering is everything, and the limitations of vinyl works out to be an advantage here.
This is how I'll be listening from now on ...

Best thing I ever did pick up a Technics hifi for £40. The difference in sound quality is excellent.

It's the cartridge and preamp that's doing the whole trick.
If you find the right stuffs to your turntable the E1 vinyl sounds totally amazing.
Light years beyond that cheap CD version.

I have quite a few digital recordings - download and DVD / Blu Ray Audio, which sound as good and warm as any vinyl. I'm not a "vinyl or nothing" person. The loudness wars have vinyl casualties too - just listen to the current pressing of Oxygene, for example. 'Electronica 1' though has been mastered so loud, I doubt it's possible to press it at the same levels as it's digital counterparts. The stylus would probably skate off the platter
