"Polydor Red face CDs" have a reputation. The most infamous one is ABBA's red face CD which can fetch similar prices or higher.

The reason the Red Face Polydor Equinoxe CD commands high prices is it has the original vinyl mix on it. Subsequent CD pressings have the later mix, the difference is very evident on Equinoxe 5.

Ah yes, I remember being surprised over choosing that one as the best version out of the test samples, even though (I think) the Japanese LP also uses the original mix, which I don't like on that one (or on other releases like MAZUR), and my overall favorite version of the album (out of the ones I own anyway) is the second French LP edition, which has the less "muddier" version.

But yeah, there's certainly been an "early CD releases" resurgence going on price-wise, because even the blue face CDs have been going for 50+ € on Discogs at least.

For me it's either that original red face CD or the Japanese LP, I'm pretty sure that was my opinion all those years back when we did the comparison on here between the various versions and I'm sticking to it

a) how hard to find,
b) how official these are, and
c) if they have been posted before:

- Chinese "AERO" cassette tapes (first item and second item)
and

- US "Rendez-Vous 4" in-store promo cassette tape

I think the Chinese Aero tapes are not that hard to find, I bought one years ago.

I think those tapes are the real deal, they were sold at a music store in Beijing when I was there, as well as those Chinese CDs and DVDs of Aero. On the other hand: they also sold very dodgy DVDs there with camcorder recordings of movies...

That RV4 tape... dunno, but it looks cool. Haven't seen that before.
