The 705/707 have 2 Rhapsody string sections, 2 drawbar organs and the solo section is an improved ELKA Solist 505 (and that's seen as a synthesizer
). The VCF and VCA are placed on the solo section. The preset sounds on the solist, like trumpet and hawaiian guitar, are the 'oscillators'. You can switch VCA and VCF on or off
What you can hear in the mp3 in the middle are examples of a preset being altered. You can change the attack length, sustain length (read decay), filter cutoff, vibrato and something they call 'WOW'... it's the vowel filter.... and the famous bend you can all dream of... There are more sounds available like harpsichord and piano but they are less intresting... Everything is full polyphonic except the solo section.
Sad thing is I have to fix it again.... it did not survive being left 'ON' for a few hours... I'd never did a stress test like this but it failed... I think it's or because of the heat it produces that some connections gone bad or a dead TCA730 or something like that... I'll have a go at it tomorrow....

very nice sounds btw. i had an ocasion to work for 5 mins with x705
and we can also hear basspedal, so i was almost sure it was elka
btw leodav youre right some strings sound like strings or viola/cello from my rhapsody 610

I also have an ELKA Concorde 402 those strings are also Rhapsody strings yet the 705 is 'harder' more agressive and the 402 is smoother more friendly.. I think ELKA improved yeach year on their design and available components. The year your instrument was build decides what type of string sound you have. The 902 wich was a lot younger then the 705 sounded too clean...yet it could do all the 705 could do... it was basically a 705 with accordeon buttons.... The Rhapsody 610 samples I've heared over time also seem to differ... The general rule seems to be the older the Rhapsody the smoother it sounds...

After listening to basses, I'd say Korg MS-20, after listening to some leads - Yamaha CS-80, and it's a polyphonic synth, although there are lots of monophonic sounds in this demo.
OK, I know I'll be wrong, because of suspicious organ sound in this demo,
but nothing comes to my mind at this moment:
Korg Polysix.
