Congrats! The Juno-60 is a cool one. I have had an eye for this for some time now. It is one of the great and affordable polysynths of the 80's. Be sure to make some demos. I can't get enough sounddemos of this machine

Nice one - i had quite some fun with a 106 a while ago, and the 60 is said to sound warmer. Versatile enough to dial in some interesting sounds. And a killer bass machine

Congrats on the new family members, Nico. The YouTube vids I have seen of the MC-505 seem very interesting.

So is the JV-80 going to retire?

Yeah, the MC505 can sound very nice, but it's hell to program (mainly because I didn't read the manual )
There are very good drumkits, but the few onboard synth sounds sound a bit crap (as far as I have seen).

About the JV80, I thought I was about to sell it, but now I don't know anymore, I like the keyboard, so either I keep it to use with one additional SRJV card (I'll buy the Vintage one and put it on the XP80, so I'll have to put one of the XP in the JV), or I sell it and take the JV90, but only if I can find one for the same price.
In fact, I'd like to keep one JV80 or JV90 to use as a masterkeyboard for VSTs and racks, as the keyboard is very nice, and as there are 8 sliders I can use to control midi

Yes the JV-90 should be even better. Indeed go for the Vintage card. I just had a go through the sound demos on synthmania.com and most of it is pure ace. Especially those mellotron vintage choirs and stringer sounds are worth a lot. Just those in it self kills me for not having it

Yeah, the Vintage card is a pure jewel, and there is something very great : you can find it for 120€, and you can find a JV880 for about 100€ on ebay, so for about 220€, you have an AWESOME rack, isn't that great ?
BTW, I'll keep the card and sell the rack for big bucks, duh

Speaking of which, my latest synth purchase was an XP-80, too. Yes, I've got two of these now. One for the band, one for home.

My next one might finally be a MicroKorg if I get around buying a Plugiator.

BTW, I just bought a Dunlop GCB-95 wah pedal, on eBay USA, for about 40€
It seems to be quite a good one, and there are many mods I can do to make it sound even better

I bought an E-bow for my Fender Stratocaster so now I can make some sounds with my guitar that can be mistaken for a synth. Next purchase will be a melodica, a glockenspiel and a smallstone phaser. Then I'm going for a new bass and a Moog LP II.

You can also get the Roland M-VS1 Which is the same as the Vintage card,just in a 1U rack, but its a nightmare to program unless your good with System exclusive messages.You can pick these racks up for next to nothing nowadays,and a lot of people don't realise its the same PCM as the JV Expansion card for the synths.
I sold mine on ebay a while ago,kind of miss those Mellotron sounds,would maybe get another one for sure.


The MC505 is cool,I've got the Keyboard version (JX305)Quite a good jamming/Improv tool,although is a little bit of a pain to work with until you've dug into the Manual a little, good for constructing patterns and grooves quickly and easily,Quite dated soundwise now IMO and some of the Preset sounds are a little Limp in isolation,but its still useable,seems to be Rolands answer to the Raven's methods of creating Music,although sounds nowhere near as large as the Raven.

Yep, and if you can afford it, I higlyrecomend a Jd 990, which will give you access to 256 exclusives patches on the vintage card.
