The choices are limited with what resources that are left to use them on. Sorry state if one of the choices is to give the resources for rich growth in a country or a concert worth too much expense. It is not about the choice of the artist, in this case JMJ. In my opinion, this is about resources not JMJ. Maybe, the delay is for saving up for both.

Well if the concert is cancelled Jean Michel should release the new album planned for today hat now. AND by 2014 should have another album ready. Come on

This is what I don't understand with JMJ's way of thinking. Is he that wealthy he can afford to sit on a ready-to-release album. And surely is must be ready considering how much time has elapsed.

Here's my point - we don't know JMJ's thinking, he keeps his cards close to his chest most of the time. When he does let someting slip, what's mentioned almost never happens. This is not a new thing, but the advent of instant news / rumours via the web exacerbates the perception that JMJ can't make his mind up. One amittedley large (in this case) concert rumour goes viral in seconds.
From the days of news via b&w fanzines once a quarter, one thing was said over and over again - it doesn't happen until he walks on stage. This is especially true of the 'Cities In Concert' size events.
Anyone who was at Docklands will know exactly what I'm on about.

I don't understand in term of rights.

If Fremantle is happy to oblige, so if Fremantle is the city that would "approve" the go-ahead, is it still possible to make the concert itself in Perth, Langley Park?

Hi Robi,

I spoke to Fiona earlier this week with regards to Perth, and there is still hope that it will still happen at some point.

The moving to Melbourne or Sydney is not a real possibility in my mind, I think Maryann was using this statement to shame Perth into getting their act together, plus the fact JMJ and his team have not even considered anywhere else but Perth at the moment.

One thing is certain though, is that JMJ will not be putting on hold his new album to wait for the Perth concert (should it happen of course), and Fiona assured me that JMJ is still looking at a release next year, though no deadline has been set. JMJ is simply doing it at his own pace without any pressure of release dates etc.

Hope this helps, I personally think that a concert will take place, the problem is the financing of the project. Gone are the days of big sponsorship, the state of the world's economy has put an end to this.

Both Perth and Eventscorp reconsider the project for 2014.

To spend $millions on a free concert for such a niche musician is a tall order. They could put on a big concert festival with many current popular artists, charge people to go and get a much bigger interest and return of investment. if Jarre played Perth or anywhere it's unlikely to get a single line in any paper outside of Perth.

As much as I like Jarre, his music and his concerts I think it's unlikely that sponsors will put up the sorts of money for his big gigs now, the world has moved on.

Don't you think they've already made an investigation about the interest of a free mega Jarre concert in Perth Australia?
I mean before I even start planning for it I would probe the terrain sort of speak. It just makes common sense to me.

I agree Velodynamic. But for me it seems it`s a little bike like our new airport Berlin-Brandenburg . First with great enthusiasm, but the planning and control is crap and embarrassing. The opening had to be postponed for the third time. I hope this spared JMJ with his concert.

Maybe the reason for putting it to 2015 - among others - is he's planning a tour in '14.
