Am I hearing things, but during the single edit of Teo & Tea, at 0.27, is there a voice sample being used as percusion, sounding like "I ask again"

I like the album very much. It is different but still you can smell and hear Jean Michel behind the synthesizers 8)

OMG :shock: ....this is far from the Jarre music I've learned to know.
A big reason I think can be all the new instruments that's in use. It's hard to hear it but still there is a "standard" Jarre feeling in all this...even if it has become smaller and smaller. Interesting.
I am hearing a third version of Tea n' Teo, this time it could really be something...
French...sorry, Fresh News I don't feel anything for this one. pure noice.
Beautiful Agony have a big sign on it and that is 'SEX'! Well...a bit funny I would say. :mryellow: Jarre has become the dirty old man?Touch To Remember -a beautiful track.
Partners In Crime 1&2 could aswell has been a movie score to an agent movie.
In the second part I think I hear the Virus TI quite clearly. 8)
Chatterbox -big laugh. 80's DJ style'ee with a handfull of new mindblowing sounds. :D
In The Mood For You Very much "air" and a warm kind of moog sound. A really great track i.m.o. :wink:
Gossip Whispering voices and strings as from a horror movie.
I can feel some fear in this but yet there is happy tune in the middle of it all.
Vintage don't really sound that "vintage" I had expected. It could be a Radias involved in this track...just a guess. Very nice music though...a king of the album! :wink: :)
Melancholic Rodeo "Intro Saturee 2"? :roll: Cos' that's what it sounds like to me...very much crying in this electronic "song"...it's ok. :P
Teo&Teo&Tea&Teo&Tea :twisted: but there is always something new in all these TTTT tracks.....

I'll bet Joachim Garraud has his big fat finger in this production. :? :wink:
I'm not going to listen as much to this album as the 80's Jean Michel Jarre, but it is a defenitive buyer! Awezzzome! 8)

Reading the negative comments about the new album, reminds me of some of the comments that was given about Zoolook, when that album was released in '84. Some people missed the soundscapes of Oxygene, Equinoxe and Magnetic Fields, and the Zoolook and Zoolookologie tracks were too much in style of the electric boogie music that was played everywhere. But look at the Zoolook albums status today. ;)

'Fresh News' kind of reminds me of te manic stuff you here on the 'Zoolook' album, mixed together with a bass line from that dance track 'Zombie Nation' by 'Kernkraft 400'.



I like what Im hearing so far, and yes, this does feel and sound like Jarre

Poor Francis, he's going to have his work cut out during the concerts :lol:

You have absolutely right about the similarity with Zoolook in that matter it sounded a bit "dancie" for its age and Jarre's way of making music. But Zoolook was breaking a whole new way of using voices in electronic music. I just wonder if there is something that revolutionary new about T&T? :roll:

in the early days, Jarre was able to still set standards, also because he could afford all those big, unique machines. Today, when everything is cheaper and everyone calls himself DJ or musician, it is more difficult to stand out of them all..... and to set standards.

With standards, I also mean sounds like that Pizzicato in Faithless' "Insomnia" etc.... I have to admit, after having listened to the album about 2 times in one go, not much stays in my memory, but more than after having listened to it for the first time....

Fresh News - Reminds me of what you hear on the 'Zoolook' album. Very Jarre, manic and groovy - 8/10

Teo & Tea - Good get-up-&-go dance track, with lot of Jarre styles - 8/10

Beautiful Agony - This reminds me of a 2007 version of 'Eros Machine'. Superb track - 8/10

Touch To Remember - Superb strings, very Jarrish feel that sounds like it's come from another META style track. Brilliant 'speak & spell' style voice samples make this track pulsate. Jarres tribute to 'Kraftwerk' ? - 8/10

O.K, Do It Fast - What a funky guitar riff this has, no doubtly Claude. Try this track while driving down route 66. Or failing that, your nearest motorway/highway/autobahn - 7/10

Partners In Crime 1 - This track has a film feel to it, a hint of Bond 007 or something similar - 7/10

Partners In Crime 2 - A rehash of the track before. I like it, not as much as the first version. Persoanlly I feel this could have been added to pt1 or put towards the end of the album - 5/10

Chatterbox - A very unusual track that fits with the idea of the album being dance, but does not feel Jarrish. At 2:12 long, it's feels like something put together to fill a gap on the album - 5/10

In The Mood For You - Fantastic pads and very Jarrish. Reminds a little of GOL. Nice ambiant track - 7/10

Gossip - This is just another 'Chatterbox' - 5/10

Vintage - I love this track. This should have been the first single. Simple, thumping basses and beats, very Jarre - 10/10

Melancholic Rodeo - WTF, for a second then I thought something was wrong with my recording. Nice pads, nice manic solo lead, not too sure about the bass line which is to HipHop (gangsta stylieeeeee - bling) - 6/10

Teo & Tea 4AM - The best version of this track (IMHO). Play it loud, play it late, repeat play it, turn up the bass, clear the floor, turn your baseball cap back-to-front, wear baggy jeans, thump the air, wear shades - 9/10

O.K, so Jarre has not created anything new, no defining sounds that says "that's Jarre doing it again". But JMJ has carved another notch into his musical walking stick with this album. So what if it's not "classic", why does it have to be like taht all the time?. One thing for sure, this is Jarre, this is a funky Jarre and a side of Jarre we didn't know he had. This album reminds me of 'Oxygene', why?, the first time I heard Jarre back in 1977. Who would belive that JMJ has done a dance album, it's new for Jarre, it's new for me. I like it, hence why it reminds me of "Oxygene".
