It depends of the way of synthese, if the synth uses existing oscillators for Unison, the polyphony is only the half. If the synth uses special oscillators for unison, the polyphony is the same, that's what you mean?

Normally I'm against painting synths, unless you are doing a completely custom work, but this looks very cool. I still hope to find a KX-5 one day which I will change into the Rendez-Vous style.

Did you clear lacquer the keys after painting them?

Not bad - but I prefer the paintjob which has only the first octave w/ reversed colors...

I was thinking about that but... red and black with some white keys looks much cooler

Looks neat!!!Did you remove the Lacquer from the Keys prior to spraying them and have you used Plastic Primer before you sprayed them,if not you'll find after a while the paint will split.

Paint doesn't take to plastic very well unless you prime it first,and it will be even less likely to take to the keys if you didn't remove the previous Lacquered layer


I'm looking at having my Keys done,possibly Mettalic Red and Pearlescent White,I have a friend who does car spray repairs and he said he would do the keys for me for a small charge

Hehe, this is what I am thinking of doing, well similar. The body of the AX-1 would be grey metalic, the white keys would be satan matt black and the black keys would be chromed. The mod lever and all black buttons would also be chromed.

I used to work in the automotive trade (repairs/spraying) so I still have a few local contacts.

But IMHO, it would have been so much better if the AX1 had been black
