VSE forum is one piece of unstable crap that nobody cares about. I get this errormessage almost everytime I visit the forum, I think it was something about their bandwidth being full.

christophe_ketels wrote:it's not 40 minutes, the show last night lasted more than an hour, non stop from oxygene 1 to 6, they are quite new arrangements as intros and transitions between the pieces, in my opinion too much the same though since as it was in one take and no else could go on stage to change the synths settings, Jarre especially always had the same sound on his analogue stuff so you always had the same lfo effect, the same wind, etc. he played a lot on the rmi but my god that sounded so bontempi ... on paper this concert looks so good, but he did a challenge, play 100 % live, first time ever in his career and all the musicians told me, and there was one problem last night, Jarre couldn't play.

there were about 20 takes of oxygene 2 because he can't play the chorus (the high notes) and then they stopped simply. oxygene 4 he was playing out of sync, and oxygene 6 was very, very false. the only good thing was he played the high voice on oxygene 1 (which sounds like the theremin) on the synthi aks with the blue keyboard
Just what I thought for several years, Jarre can't play. Even "his own" works. And oxygene 1 to 6 is very easy to play. It is no surprise for me. I never saw Jarre in his studio playing something on his synth's, as you see other musicians in the studio they play some tunes. I saw Jarre never play something real on some movies. Just some effects or turn on knobs and that is what you can see. But I haven't seen him play something real. Hmmm... strange :nico:

No I'm not mad at Jarre. but Jarre is just a show guy.

ps. Oxygene has very simple chords, very simple leads. Not difficult at all to play. My covers are recorded in one shot so. If I did them in 2 or 3 takes they where played right. And for somebody like Jarre who had an musical education and knows solveiges, and the creator of oxygene is it very sad that he can't play this. It is not really professional for an artist.

For JMJ this is truly a beautiful thing!

:peacemaan:

P.S. Regarding the earlier Concerts in China. That is one of my favorite albums! I never get tired of listening to it.."Now fasten your seat belts, the plane is now descending..."

And JMJ is finally arriving :!:

IMO saying that JMJ can't play is just a whine thing. We have seen and heard him play live before so what is there to doubt about? Only a few people in here are witnesses of how it sounded, so how are you able to make a conclusion of anything??
JMJ has proved that he is not only a showdude. No one has ever claimed that JMJ is the best keyboardplayer and is that required for his popularity? I think his albums are evidence enough of what he can do.

It isn't suprising that people can't stop whining. JMJ is trying to do what the fans have demanded for years, and before it has been oficially shown, some people have already started attacking for the negative sides about doing this.

You're right. But 40 minutes ( or 1 hour with bonus unreleased tracks ) are not enough in my opinion to make a DVD ...

Hope there is many unreleased tracks so ! :D

I am sure I am the major showstopper here, but HOW THE HELL COULD ONE ALREADY HAVE "COMPLAINTS" BEFORE IT'S ACTUALLY RELEASED AT ALL?

Great great, Kanta, you are the master of the photos and links !!! :D

Anyway, I have had the information from the French forum (from 2 different persons) that JMJ had to play dozen of times Oxygène 2, and he was so irritated that he left the stage, he couldn't play the fast melody.
According to these two persons, the live performance was the worst ever, because it was 90% live, and the video will be kept, the audio will be replaced by the audio recorded during the wek before the concert.

I used to love everything 3D. As a kid I would sit and watch very badly made old 3D movies with my blue & red paper glasses on. :P But, alas, in 2004 I lost 90% of my eyesight on the left eye, due to an illness. Needless to say... I don't care for 3D these days.

When I discovered, and enjoyed, the stereogram, I found out that the cover of Equinoxe is actually such a pic. Check it out! ;)
