This leads me to the question; what has got the best audio qualitative characteristics -black vinyl or coloured/tinted vinyl?

AFAIK according to audionazis, clear vinyl is the best because any kind of colorization RUINS THE SOUND QUALITY oh noes.

But among normal people, eh, I guess it depends on a lot of other factors? Dunno. >_>

Pretty much as I suspected the black vinyl holds up better over time because of higher carbon levels. The blue'ish vinyls from i.e. Mike Oldfield's Man On The Rocks has got some nasty hessing high notes going and I have an other tranparent LP that looks cool but sounds even worse compared to a regular CD. Not to mention a picture LP which fits much better on a wall rather then on the vinyl lathe. The thin transparent vinyl layer over the picture doesn't allow the grooves to run as deep as on a coloured or standard black vinyl disc.
There's a pretty deep digging thread on the subject here: http://www.discogs.com/group/thread/600594

Now I'm not telling people to avoid the Deluxe edition just because of this. The vinyl colouring methods have become better and better through the years.
It's just that I thought that it could be interesting to know, that's all. :)

Can't help, but this site looks like the Esprit-Online-Shop to me :?: Nevertheless, ridiculous pricing. 300 € plus shipping costs (!) for a deluxe edition? No way ... I'll go for the itunes-version. So far I really like "Conquistador" and "Watching You".

Who knows?
Perhaps JMJ himself doesn't know yet :-)
Or the 'real' new Jarre-album everybody is waiting for?

Yeah, can't wait for the Enzian-Remix of Conquistador !! :fine: Great, JMJ could then promote his album by performing at Florian Silbereisen's show - he would surely reach a great audience here in Germany ....
