c-jay wrote:hi guys,

my first reply here...been reading here for long time, but time to register.
im from amsterdam holland, 30 years old and im a dj / producer by profession.
check www.thesessions.nl for my music and all ...

as for this concert; thank you all for the uploads and hard work..real good.
im watching the clips now, and tomorrow i will get the dvd of the moroccan live tv broadcast..a friend of mine recorded it...cant wait!

so far i like the show, its better than the damn boring beijing show...
however, i feel jarre is doing more of the same since denmark... beijing, denmark and this look alike....
that doesnt matter so much as most shows are good, but im a fan since i was 11 years old and i really miss a real band on stage!!!

i mean, just jarre and rimbert isnt really cool to look at, and this show again shows the fact jarre is really playbacking most of the show... again, not important, but in some parts it REALLY IS OBVIOUS!!! like millions of stars... i just watched a part where he sings in the microphone, and you hear............nothing...haha!!

oh well, im used to that allready...
but its about time a band comes back with a drummer and all, like egypt, paris etc. etc.

but, im a fan till im dead...
ive been to the shows in paris tolerance, oxygene tour rotterdam and caen, chronology tour in brussels and i just love jarre!

hurray...
You've got the point mate: I feel the same about JMJ's performances.

I recently watched some recordings of his debut concert at Paris La Concorder, 1979, on you tube. And here again, it is obvious he was already playbacking at the time !!!

And it did it again and again, La defense, Destination Docklands etc ...I haven't watched them all but I am pretty sure he did some playback during all his concerts.

Of course, I would not be posting here if I did not like his music. I am a big fan of his music actually, but at the same time, I am not a fool, and I will not claim JMJ is playing live when he is not.

However, his music is not technically easy to play live...some tracks are sometimes just impossible to play live like Oxygen2, Globetrotter, Oxygen10, Gagarin and many other
"risky" tracks

When I played my own gigs in Paris, I confess I used to playback too

To playback or not to playback, that's the question

To believe in it or not to believe in it is another

But to discuss it or not to discuss it seems to be an inevitably outdated and useless issue.

Just before JMJ starts playing on 'Intro Saturee', you here him accidently hit 2 of the keys. I think it was accidently :D

Oxygene 2 is actually pretty easy, Oxygene 10 isn't difficult either, those sequences are just tough or impossible to play by hand. A sequencer will do it, like in the studio.

Nothing beats Natacha Atlas. Her recognized her voice in the radio some time ago.

And as sir William Shakespeare also told:
"All the world's a stage,
And all the men and women merely players.
They have their exits and their entrances;
And one man in his time plays many parts..." :mryellow:

Babelfish can understand it, more or less, but sorry, I don't have enough time to translate all, and he repeats things he already said ;)

good stuff, really, it is always a pleasure to read some news of Jean-Michel. I am waiting next March impatiently to get his new material. Big thanks to you mate!!!

For those who don't understand french, it seems jean-michel is getting more and more interested in spiritual experiences nowadays. I have the feeling this is a new approach in his attitude. And this was not especially obvious to me until tonight...

If that is so, this could very well result in something quite exciting!!! :D :D

Looking forward to March!! :D
