Yes, you can get almost everything from IKEA, but most of it is so impractical. The only decent things they've ever made are their batteries because they're so cheap, but they're still impractical (BRIGHT yellow).

I really hate the feeling that IKEA gives away. They play on the poor peoples heart to get all furniture in a home and all things just looks so branding, like screaming IKEA. If things from IKEA could get rid of the IKEA mark I would be more hapy. And why are none of you outragious about the boss ideas about child labour. But I am not really surprised. Because as long as things works and as long as they are cheap to buy, no one thinks about the 8th year old girl or boy in China or India that needs to paint every product made to send them to IKEA and your homes!

You will never believe me, but once there was a documentary in Swedish TV in swedish where they did an interveiw with Ingvar Kamprad where he said right at the camera that he didn't care about the fact that there was child-labour in his factories and frenchizing companies. He said that he was glad that he had them working for him instead of living on the streets. When the same reporter asked about wheter or not he would like them to go to school he simply replied dryly, I cant be a saviour of this planet. I guess they are happier working for me then not. End of this debate it is silly.

If you mail SVT about it they will probobly tell you that yes this was the true fact. But it was all in Swedish and it was a documentary about the philosophical part of the buisness of IKEA!

His words can be interpretated very differently.

Not in the tone he used them in this documentary. He really sounded tired to get that question and like it was all lefty-propaganda question that should not be asked!

because IKEA is such a huge company in this world and that Ingvar Kamprad is equally as important as Bill Gates in the buisness-world. and that things that he do or don't do is very important to this world.

You said yourself he was tired, and as you know he would never put his company in discredit even if it was true. I don't believe much of this story, sorry...

Actually there're many things in this world I would prefer not to believe in.

IKEA or not IKEA...there're many children used, also by the well-known companies, that's easy way to make the prices lower.

IKEA sucks...? This world sucks...

It would be easier to live without the consciousness of some facts. I sometimes really feel guilty of doing nothing except talking about it and taking part in collections from time to time. That's one of these moments.

He way tired of that question and yoyu believe more in the boss then in a girl who saw the documentary. He was tried because he was like you said not in love with the idea that his company would get a bad reputation. But he is a lunatic that just wants to have it his way. Everyone knows that who works at IKEA. All things in the stores have to be put in the way he likes it, and IKEA is a family company that has no stock on the market. So he can do almost anything to get it going. He is believe me a true capitalist who has no concience.
