Yes! Just a few weeks ago I asked on this forum if there was such a project in the past and now they plan this project , it's if they read my mind. :idea: Very cool and interesting news! I'm very curious.

And then a live show... in Jarre style... at some classic location... :wink:

I don't think so, and I don't even think JMJ has a big role in this release. As it says he suported and contributed on this project.

I didn't know so many people in here were interested in classical music.
It is music of Jarre, thats why I am interested 8) And also because his music is being played by an symphonic orchestra. That is way above cool and great. It is briliant!!

Well, if I had to arrange it, defenitely trumpets, short accented and fortissimo, s'il vous plaît, could also imagine a tutti with strings, glockenspiel, flutes etc. Also, the bass should be done by trombones or horns, short-accented and shifting from piano and to fortissmo and back at certain times for tension.

I hope they do'll their job well. Won't blindly buy it without prelistening. Orchestral arrangements can be very exciting if done properly, but a pain in the a** if done as a rush job.

I wonder if we finally get to hear Jarre on classical radio stations... :P

You don't? Well, I would bet that Bach's work, between Wagner and Orff, had a big influence on Jarre's composition style.

Oh, I know that, and you won't hear me saying it's bad stuff, not at all, not at all. Bach is very high-level music, a class on it's own, but the baroque isn't my style much. I'd prefer romantic, 19th century and onwards. It's not that I really dislike Bach, but it's just too repetitive and romantic style seems more moving/sensitive... that's all. I know Bach has a major influence... on everyone's music... :)

I love classical music. I might consider purchasing this symphonic album, if it's any good, but on the other hand Jarre is all about the synths, so I don't know if symphonic renditions of his works will... ehm... work. :roll:

I wouldn´say this, at least not all tracks. I think there are plenty of tracks that would sound great not played on synths. But it´s still more than 4 months of waiting for the new release. So we´ll see how it works. :P

I would imagine it would be played with Pizzicato playing which with pure string arrangements would sound pretty excellent....

I'm not sure about Oxygene 4 though...there are some Jarre pieces which just dont fit the Symphonic nature given there original minimalist approach,but I'm keeping an open mind....

everything else sounds really cool,especially looking forward to Chronologie Part 1 now that would be interesting in a Symphonic atmosphere...


I wonder how much this album is going to coincide with Jarres new Album...a possible lean towards whats he branching out to,given his orchestral movement in some of his pieces at various concerts of late...


FJAS.....must be an edit...being only 6 mins is duration....does this mean they have replicated Jarres(interpretation and improvised track...or an edit of the Original chinese Hymn,in which its not a jarre track!!!!

Not really sure how Chrono 3 would be any better in symphonic nature
,taken that its almost that anyway albeit a few synths and soprano...
maybe they could have included Calypso 3 instead of that track...

Pizzicatto Strings for Sequence
Minimal Percussion for Drums
Plucked Double Bass for Bass
Violins (varying in volume for some sort of phaser effect)
Alt Oboe for Lead
Sitar for break Lead
