The Razormaid remixes of zoolook and revolutions. I would highly recomend both remixes. Razormaid has been doing remixes since the early 80's. Razormaid is a DJ only service. I think most of u will like the razormaid remixes

A friend of mine in Surrey has this CD single,it is a very good remix,quite different from the original.
If you can find this CD,it is quite expensive,the last time I saw it which was from Esprit,it was about £75.
As well as this remix,my other favourites are:-
Equinoxe 4 Extended remix
Zoolookologie Extended
Rendezvous IV Special Remix
Calypso Extended/Latino mix

Here's why the CD release has the remixes (source Destination Jarre Issue 3)-
The original CD was issued in November 1984 at a time when CD's were first being pressed and so very few were made. The Zoolook remix was issued in January 1985 and the Zoolookologie remix single in May 1985, a new CD was then pressed with both remix singles on it. All other copies of the original release that had not been sold were withdrawn from sale. This meant that only a very small number were actually sold to the public which makes them extremely rare. Strangely this only applied to CD's, the vinyl release was left on sale; though the European release and the second pressing of the French version both have the remixes.

So, if you want to hear the original releases either track down a copy of the original CD (I've only ever seen one) or the much easier to find (and cheaper) vinyl version.

The following albums should be easy to find.

UK = POLH 15
French = FDM 18118
German = 823 763

Mind you that later CD issues such as both remasters (1991, 1997) both feature the original version of the track.

True, but weren't these remastered, so they don't sound quite the same as the original release. Also, as discussed on another thread, vinyl versions of Jarre's records sound so much better.

Yeah you're right about that, but at least it's the first and original version. Keep in mind that zoolook was recorded digitally, so maybe the vinyl makes it sound warmer than it was intended to be....

True that vinyl has a much warmer sound, but then there's the annoying static noise to consider.

Remove the static electricity and the record will sound less noisy.

There is no Orb mix. Somehow they did not receive any tapes to create a remix from, so 'Toxygene' is what they came up with :wink2:
