That´s more or less normal in Japan, look at Mitsubishi, under this company name work over 200 legally independent companies. They seem to try absolutlely everything, but in doing so, they don't do a very good job of anything. They may aswell stick to, say, motorbikes, and do a proper job of them!
The only thing i have from Yamaha is the RM1X. It has a very bad sound engine, but a Sequencer par excellence. Ok, it is more difficutly to serve instead of a PC sequencer, but it is absolutely quiet. That´s for me the most important.
