Just picked up my mint NORD 2 RACK. Sit's perfectly above my Nord 2 keyboard.

I've always wondered whether or not there is enough space for a 19" rack on the right upper side of the keyboard, the empty red panel...?

Yep, thats the spot..Just got to make some wood end cheeks tomorrow - to match the keyboard.

I was almost able to keep a Microkorg on that panel, however it was rather unstable

put some of that anti-slip stuff underneath and it will sit perfectly
how much NL2 voices have you got in total now?

Yes there is,i used to have my 2X sat on top of the MK1 Lead,although its footprint was a little bit bigger than the depth of the case,and the sloping corner didn't make it very stable.
The Virus TI also has room to house a TI Rack(or a PC Keyboard) on its right hand side,or any other similar Sized Tabletop or rack module.

4 + 4 = 8 Nord voices now. Laquer is drying on the wood ends overnight ready to be fitted tomorrow. Equinoxe 5 is sounding so much better now I have rid of the crappy JP8000 lead.

Hmm doesn't the NL2 have more than 4 voices?
Im happy about the 20 voices I have in the NL2x. It works nice with the 4 timbres.

According to Vintagesynth.com, NL2's should have 16 voices...?
Unless Matt uses all patches in unison mode

Nordlead 2 has 16 voices and 4 outputs (4 DSP inside, 4 voices/DSP), the nordlead 1 has 4 voices and 12 with the voice expansion.

SORRY, yes.
I meant I have 4 multitimbral voices with seperate outputs from each.

Well besides the one Rico himself owns, however I see a pattern of overlapping designs, just as it happened to the 2x.
