To be honest, I'm a bit sick of those people who keep demanding more, or different things. Is it so hard to be just pleased and enjoy? I mean, if it wasn't the projections, it would be his haircut, and if it wasn't his haircut, it would be the color of the lasers... there's always something to whine about... :(
You still don´t get it do you Gee????

I/we are no complaining, we are just stating that.... never mind.. Jon, you wanna take over? I´m tired of explaining such a simple thing over and over again.. :P
I understand that you want to express obstructive criticism and that it is not necessarily complaining.

My point is. Can't you just shut up for a second and enjoy and talk about what you DO like in stead of pinpointing out what didn't match your expectations?
I don't see "obstructive critism" or "demands", I see constructive critism and support for Jarre as an artist. While I'm sitting on the fence with this one, and as already pointed out before, peoples expectations may have run high due largely to press reports and statements from Jarre and his management. How many times in the past have we been told to expect "this", "that" and the "other", to receive not all and even at times non. It is easy to get too embroiled in this, same as its too easy to expect too much based on what we have been told. Today I have read that Jarre has brought up the issue of a new album again, but wanting to get this tour out of the way first. But we got that at the time of the Oxy tour. It is clear that Jarre changes his mind more times than I have showers.

With images and footage coming out from these new concerts, we now get a much better and clearer understanding of what this tour has to offer. OK, so its not the Jarre from such out-door shows such as Docklands, PLD, Houston or Gdansk, but its still Jarre non the less, but a much smaller, compact version. Its the minimal change that we have to get use too.

When we are told to expect an out-door show to come in-doors, thats what we automatically expect to see, in our minds. Lasers, lights, fireworks, projections. However, this is not the case. So you start to ask those questions "where is the out-door concert that is to be in-doors". Its a normal reaction. Its like walking into a shop to buy a box of cornflakes, to get home and open them up and find wheat-a-bix. Its not what you expected to find.

As its been said, its all about the music. I agree it is, because without the music, you wouldnt get the visuals. Jarre, music and visuals is what makes up the 'Jarre Package'. Its what we always come to expect. And its just that - its what we always come to expect. So when there is a big change, it takes us by suprise. We are talking about those changes, there is no harm in that. I certainly dont see it. Im enjoying it more today than yesterday because I have come to expect the minimalist nature of the shows. And I cant wait until the Brummy show.

Im not taking anyones side here, Im sitting on the fence. Im expressing my thoughts on this. At the end of the day, fireworks or no fireworks, projections or no projections. Take them or leave them, that down to the individual. However, one thing that has not changed is Jarre himself. Thats who we have paid to see.

From my point of view concert in Ostrava was great though the hall wasn´t sold out and a few major mistakes happened through the evening.
Atmosphere was friendly, JMJ in great shape and band seemed to be very relaxed and ready to improvise at any moment. We enjoyed the same interesting tracklist as in Hungary and when I heard Equinoxe 5 I almost felt of my seat. :injure:
Laser harp was absolutely superb and fit to the hall perfectly. Lots of flashing lasers and light efects were creating Star Wars above our heads. Some people really took on their sunglasses. 8)

Stage is visible from all around because sound system is hidden behind the stage. Concert equipment arrived very late so there wasn´t much time to controll everything perfectly but through the evening things got better and better.

Many people expected something "more" for this money but I respect JMJ´s idea that you concern more on music than visuals. All in all I left the concert with great feeling in my heart. :D

A few really beautiful photos of Ostrava concert from my friend. ENJOY! :fine:

This proofs how the old ladies need one day rest in between concerts. They don't travel well everyday.

I confirm the sentence above.
If you wants the SHOW - you could be disapointed (It was my situation). If you wants musician "adventure" like at Classic music concert - you will be in nirvana.

Jare was great, all team was making good job.

But don´t wait for new tracks, big laser and light show, or some new or experimental tracks like from T&T, Zoolook, Metamorphoses, Geometry, or Bourges style.
Don´t believe of concert advertisement articles.

I agree with the verdict - this concert was "typical Jarre like in 1997 or 2008".
And it means a lot of...
