My favourite synth has to be one I own and use, otherwise I couldn't judge. Close call between the Roland JX-305 groovesynth because it can do soo much, the Akai AX73 because it's soo flexible and easy to edit, and the Korg Sigma, because I can make it sound soo good.

Can I have three favourites?

I don't own any synth, but I like the sounds from ARP 2600 or CS-80.
I wonder if Buchla counts as a synth? It looks very cool to me even if it doesn't have any keys. I had a link to somebody who produced some sounds with it but I have lost it...

In fact, Don Buchla was producing synths before Bob Moog. I've seen a few of them on the net, but I'm unfamiliar with their synthesis type, which is said to be comparable to analog subtractive....
