Nice tracks, I especially liked Night Drive. Made me think of PPG Wave! Couldn't even spot the EMII in the mix. Great sounding track. Very retro.

JMP - Question in regards to the Emu & OMI CD libraries. Where did you find those? Are they on sale via website somewhere? Also isn't there a convertor that can convert Emu format to soundfont format? Just wondering the easiest way to get these into an Alesis Fusion. After listening to the various sounds I'm gettting very interested in these sample libraries. Thanks!

The libraries are in Sound Designer format for the Mac. This is Sound Designer for the EII, not the Universal Edition. They come on a CD with the cable for Mac/EII connection from Emulator Archive here:

Not sure about the Soundfont conversion. This program here can convert between Emu formats and Akai S1000 as far as I'm aware. Maybe worth looking further into it?

I know a few people who want to get these into more modern gear. Doesn't appear an easy task.... you may need to clear a big space and await that (probably non working) EII appearing.

1.Does the library contain the choir used in Ethnicolor 1?

(I know, that the original choir was from Emulator 1, but still)

I've not come across it. I've noted a fair few classic EI sounds that aren't included with the EII libraries unfortunately.

I don't think so. Tangerine Dream used it on 'White Eagle' (1982). They used Emulator I just like Jarre.

Never knew that. I'm beginning to want the EI library now too....

People think Tangerine Dream made all their music with the PPG Wave The fact is that Tangerine Dream did use an Emulator I at the time, so my bet remains on the Emu.

@%#%$#!!!! Only for Mac or did I miss something? I found an Emax II on Ebay for a little over $200 bucks but I believe even though the EMax II is a step up from the EMII, it only has digital filters not analog ones like the EMII and Emax I.

More PPG Wave! Perhaps the sample is from the Farlight?In the youtube thread someone states it's from the Emulator I. Dunno???


@ Radek you might want to look into something like this? I think this is the route I am going to go. Purchase the soundfonts from here:
Emax
And convert them to Fusion format with this (it does Akai as well):

Still kinda steep for the whole EMax (EMII) collection though. Could buy an Emax for the same price when all is said and done.
