I see I'm in the minority of them who like the album
I don't always have "mood" for it, but I think it's really good piece of music.
And what you may find strange...I prefer "Bonjour-hello" than "Whispers Of Life"... When I first heard it I was interested, but not very impressed...now I really love it.
Listening to this track I have associations with schizoprenic person's mind...just like an image of world created inside somebody's brain...
You can hear both happiness and anxiety (even if some of you know think that "nothing's really going on in this album"). Fascinating...
I don't think it was an idea of composing this song, but that's just the meaning it has for me.
Oooh, you made me having the mood for "Interior Music"
P.S.: It's worth to give it the chance...

When listening to "Interior Music", you should be aware that it is the soundtrack of an audio-visual installation without the visual component, so it can't really be treated like an ordinary Jarre album that needs no visuals by nature.
What I like about it, is that it clearly shows that Jarre can do more than the occasional pop synth hymn or little electronic symphony, but that he is up tp scratch with aural art, too. From that perspective, IM works for me.
BTW: I'm one of the 1000 owners, too. My wife got from me in 2002 when she was spending a weekend in France. She really worked hard to get for me pretending to be a big Jarre fan (which she isn't) at the Maision du Danmark. I'm still impressed that she did that for me.

Agreed!
JMJ can do a lot of varied styles, & well if he wants to.
Part of the difficulty for him
is his "fear" of how fans will react to his experimentations, divergences
and his want for lots of album sales.
Typically from fans reactions on this forum for example,
they tend to prefer his less divergent stuff.
Though Bourges got a huge thumbs up.
It has been said before:
JMJ could release two types of materials:
the ones that sell lots
& the ones that are experimental different etc.

Agreed!
JMJ can do a lot of varied styles, & well if he wants to.

and his want for lots of album sales.
Typically from fans reactions on this forum for example,
they tend to prefer his less divergent stuff.

But his divergences belong to the whole picture for me, too, even the ones I don't like (S2K).
