At last!

I can finally do something useful for members of the forum! I live in London and can easily get hold of copies of the Mail on Sunday.

This is great news. Ray Davis recently gave away his new album with The Times, and the Mail on Sunday seems to be offering a different CD every week. They've already given away the original recording of Mike Oldfield's Tubular Bells, and they gave away the new Prince album recently. It'll likely be in a cardboard sleeve and will be a nice collector's piece.

I wonder, will it be the new Oxygene or the original Oxygene. Is the original Oxygene going out of copyright?

Anyway, I'll be picking one up for myself and I'll also pick up copies for whoever else wants one.

Don't worry too much about costs. The newspaper costs about 2 Euro's and then there's postage. If there are not many takers I'll happily do this for free. If it starts getting more expensive I'll let you all know!

Please PM me if you want one and haven't already made alternate arrangements.

Cheers!

OK, I am delegating this to you now (nothing against you, Christophe, but since Rubberlips is directly closer to the source, you don't have to bother your sister to buy all that stuff for a crowd she doesn't even know) :-) )

Rubberlips, thanks for the offer to organise this! I think it's the best to start collecting orders now via PM, so you could update this topic with the actual list of members and their number of copies every monday from now. And I would like to add: everyone placing an order to Rubberlips should be aware that she / he also has to pay for what she / he orders...

PS: I'd like to order three copies then

Three copies!

I thought you might want more Clubmix!

I'll happily go along with this idea and post updates each Monday. I've contacted the Mail On Sunday to ask for some formal confirmation - if I get anything I'll pass it along.

In the meantime current orders stand at five (including Clubmix's three!).

I will try to keep it all as free as possible. If I only get a few requests I'll happily buy the newspaper and send everything free of charge.

If the requests start multiplying beyond control I'm will have to charge I'm afraid! If this happens I'll contact you all individually.

As previously mentioned, please PM me individually if you want me to get a copy. I won't have to keep track of thread that way - and no one will miss out!

Thanks

That is the first time it's quoted proper.

Hi All,

As promised (though a little late) here is an update on the free CD situation:

'Le Figaro' ran an article in which it stated that the British newspaper 'Mail On Sunday' will be giving away a copy of 'Oxygene' with one of it's January editions. This has not been confirmed through any official channels as yet. I have contacted the 'Mail on Sunday' and I am still awaiting a decent reply. My question has been 'acknowledged' and passed through to the relevant department.

As Kanta mentioned, the 'Mail On Sunday' is on sale in the UK for £1.50 (approx €2.10). I estimate that it will cost a further £1.50 for postage and packing so the total cost should be about £3.00 (€4.20) for a single CD and accompanying JMJ article (presuming there is one). As previously mentioned, I had originally wanted to do this for free but the number of interested parties (AND the fact that many have requested multiple copies!) will make this impossible for my tight bank balance. Those forum members with requests so far:

Dr Jones
JohanFRC
Kubrick
MovieMaker
JamieJeff
Clubmix
Nico
Dv
Jacob BC
Jerome
Pete

I've spoken with Kanta and we will probably get together on this. We'll confirm that nearer the time. If you are interested in obtaining one of these disks could you please PM me so I can add you to my list. If you feel your name is missing from the above could you also give me a shout.

Once we get hold of confirmation I will contact you all individually to confirm your request. When the newspaper is released I'll buy however many copies are required and then contact you individually to let you know I have got hold of it. By then I should have a Paypal account set up. You can then give me your address and I'll send the CD on to you!

Cheers!

Little bif of info from the back page of the 'Mail On Sunday' newspaper with gives destinations were this newspaper is distrubuted to other countries. You may have seen other newspapers that you would find at home at a holiday destination.

This may be of help to those who cannot get the paper from the U.K. . . . .

Gosselies, Belgium; Mediterranee Offset Print SA, Marseillies, France; Kalofolias Group SA, Athens, Greece; Recroprint Sagunto, SL, Valencia, Spain; Recroprint Dos Hermanas, SL, Sevilla; TFPrint, SA, Tenerife; Omniprint, SA, Mallorca; The Orlando Sentinel, Orlando, Florida, USA

(registered as a newspaper at the post office)

Note: Though the above list of countries may represent where this newspaper is distributed, this does not mean you will get all contents - such as additional give-aways (dvd/cds), so it may be best to check with your destination on the sales of this product.

That's exactly the problem. But I'm going to the kiosk tomorrow to see if they have the MoS extras.
