They are not separated, Mogan. It is only a term for knowing what 'part' of the songs (which is, funny enough, often called <ALBUMNAME> Part <TRACK NUMBER>) you are talking about. For example, MF1 where 'part 1.3' of the song is complete different of 'part 1.1'. So, if you are like me, you can enjoy part 1.1 and 1.3 of the song, while 1.2 is a bit boring to me. It´s only a way to 'cut' the song into smaller parts, so it´s simpler to know what 'in' the song you are talking about.
