Can anyone help me with the notes for the fast synth sequence on Magnetic Fields 1? I think the sheet music I have isn't correct because it doesn't sound right.

It might be related to portamento or proper effect or a combination of those two, but it just sounds wrong.

Any help GREATLY appreciated - thanks!
I play it on the piano (hence, no effects, the pattern below simulates the delay, just play with the "force" in your fingers), and from mem too... usually I play'em with left hand and chords with right (on a piano):

(E2)-F2-F1-F2-E2-F1-F2-E2-F1-F1-E2-F2-F1-E2-F2-F1 (x4)
(C2)-C#2-C#1-C#2-C2-C#1-C#2-C2-C#1-C#1-C2-C#2-C#1-C2-C#2-C#1 (x4)
(A2)-A#2-A#1-A#2-A2-A#1-A#2-A2-A#1-A#1-A2-A#2-A#1-A2-A#2-A#1 (x4)
(B3)-C3-C2-C3-B3-C2-C3-B3-C2-C2-B3-C3-C2-B3-C3-C2 (x4)

Or something sort of. 8-)

The total mistery surrounding the experience codenamed Teo & Tea project besides body movements, emotions and sexual activity also required me to shave...

... It's not mentioned because they could not stretch the preset intro pattern lenght in the groovebox. Some italian dudes recently required me to grow it back in a couple days... Thus was almost physically impossible and JMJ didn't wanted me to mime the beard... so ops... :-D

The notes on the first page of this topic are right.
Try to set only a bit of phaser between the synth and the stereo delay (or a ping pong delay synchronised with the rythm as indicated by Studio F), and you should obtain something very close to the original.
The attack is long on the VCA too.

Here a sample, I do not have the right synth sound but the effect can be obtain a bit easily I think:

Les chants magnetiques part 1 - Stereo synth

I've just saw that my delay effect wasn't right yesterday. The time parameter wasn't good.
I made it again and tried to get closer from the original sound, with an Elka synthex simulation on reaktor.
I did not match the perfect sound yet.
By listening better to the original song, there are some velocity subtles in the sequence that make it groove.
Do someone has the sound patch for this sequence please ?

My last attempt (after a long programming night):

Les chants magnetiques part 1 - Stereo Synth (take 2)

I think VinceBlood came very close using his OB-Xa. By the way... I don't think the attack on the VCA is long like you said...

Thanks for all the suggestions. I was actually trying to do a cover of the Overture, but the sequence is indentical to Magnetic Fields 1.

Seems that Per Kristian got it dead on ;)

By the way, I dropped the idea of doing this cover because I got tired trying, so no need for further efforts - thanks anyway.

Virus KC Tuto :

Introduction :

Description du patch :

VCO-1 :

Onde quasiment Carré
(il reste un peu de composante triangulaire)

DEMO VCO1

VCO-2 :

Onde triangulaire (TRI)
Detune : 50%
Semie Tone : Une octave au dessus
SYNC : ON

AMP Enveloppe :

Attack:9;Decay:61;Sustain:71;Release:0
(valeur min : 0 ; valeur max : 127)

Filter Enveloppe :

Attack:10;Decay:40;Sustain:0;Release:127
(valeur min : 0 ; valeur max : 127)

Filtre LP :

Enveloppe Amount : 61%
Cut-Off : 39%

Very very nice, thanks for the explanation ;)
