f**k me Bullets in the A6!!!!

I can bet your bottom dollar they got in there via the underside of the keyboard,there is quite a gap underneath the keys and the casing so would suspect they were either placed on the lip and rolled in by accident....

I used to rest a Pen on My Trinity on the Lip under the keys whilst I was composing many a time I'd forget about it and it would end up falling into the casing!!

A pen is one thing,but BULLETS!!!!!lets hope the Gangsta who put them there doesn't come looking for them!!! :


Nice that you got "Andy" for a great price,you won't be dissapointed,Over the weekend I've been trying to copy some ARP2600V patches into the Andromeda,and they convert quite well,this synth is awesome,You can't appreciatte one until you own and use it

As a rule of thumb I always switch it on,then tune it straight away,then leave it for 20 minutes for hte circuitry to warm up and become accustomed to room temperature and tune it again before I play it

This synth to me demands a lot of respect..I can see in years to come this machine will be sought after

There are a couple of things that Alesis need to address in the OS,from reading the Bugs List on various Forums,One of 2 things I find a little annoying,Firstly there is no "Latch" facility with the Sequencer,so you have to keep the keys pressed whilst playing,which is a damn stupid idea,when you want to run Multiple sequences in Mix mode,and secondly the Arpeggio or Sequencer do not transmit the note data via Midi,whilst these 2 issues are workable around them,It would be nice to have the Latch ability so you can have sequences free running without having to keep the Note held down

There is one issue bug that I found out over the weekend too,the Andromeda|(well mine did )Locks up if you boot it up with both the Midi In and Out sockets connected to an External device,this causing the OS to "Hang"and not move past the wake up screen and needs a Hard Reset to remedy it,you can get round it by booting up the andy before the external device,so far it been ok,but it was pretty annoying at first

I do Hope Alesis sort these bugs out with a possible Future OS upgrade,but from reading some Forums it seems they have no plans to address them,Ok its not too much of a problem,and happily the problems are relativly Minor,but I hope they do sort the Bugs out,its not like they're not aware of them,I know its coming out of production,but hopefully a final OS upgrade will remedy the current Bugs


But on a Positive Note 10/10 to Alesis for the Manual,this is one of the best Manuals I've ever had the pleasure of reading,well laid out and clearly written,something that every other Manufacturer should take a tip from,but I suppose that's because there American and there's no Japanese to English translation to make things confusing,the Manual looks Quite daunting when you see how thick it is,but its like as if someone is showing the functions rather than having to figure stuff out yourself!!!You would have thought the A6 was pretty self explanatory from the Front panel lay out,which it is,but there are lots of Hidden functions of which you need the Manual to help guide you and it does that wonderfully,no frustrating text in here!!!,infact I read the Manual from cover to Cover in 2 days,most other manuals I only look into to as a reference due to lack of Being user friendly

I'm not sure what exactly Jarre used it for on T+T theres only really one sound that he could have used judging on the presets which is Program "Preset 2-60 Sol in Andromeda" which was used on "In the Mood for you",if he used it elsewhere theres more chance he made his own patches as there's pretty much no other presets on the Album off the Andy

Yep they appear to be 22 short. This never happens to me that I actualy get a good deal. Not too impressed with the presets but it's very easy to get some wicked cool sounds out of it. A bit on the complex side but that only opens up more sonic possiblities. The ribbon is nice. The one gripe I thought enough people would have complained about is touching the ribbon and it registering a zero point. Maybe that's just me, but I touch the ribbon and more times than not the sound will change from what I'm playing. Sometimes it's hard to find that sweet spot with zero change to tweak away. It would be nice to touch the ribbon and the change only happen when you move your finger along the controller up or down. Not a massive gripe though; this monster is a crown jewel no doubt. The biggest shame in this great deal I got is that I won't have more time to create. Equinoxe is right about the space between the keys and the bottom of the board. There's a biiig gap there.

@BigTime - Alesis is notorious for their 2 week delivery. Talking to one of the sales guys, when they say 2 weeks, they pause and say, "That's an Alesis 2 weeks so it might be a month or two." I guess their rep precedes them. I can see this being a highly sought after synth later on in years. Reminds me kind of like the Synthex where there is plenty under the hook to make it a winner but the name "Elka" or "Alesis" doesn't carry the weight of Roland, Moog, or Korg. Plus the price ain't too cheap! If you can get one I'd highly recommend it. You won't be sorry you did. Plus you might get a few extra rounds fo' yo' gat!

No, not the A6, but today I got my Virus Polar!! Uuuhhh what a sweetie she is!!

My A6 will be here by the end of the week!! Somehow it just got shipped a few days ago!?? I´ve been told that the reason for this is that the A6 is NOW out of production, so I may have got hold of the last one!!? There´s simply been trouble getting hold of one! But, the last one?, is on it´s way now, and by the end of the week.... PARTYYYYY!!!

Glad I got mine when I did then ,on the downside though,If there going out of production,then there's no chance Alesis will address the Faults of the OS and sort of the bugs..

The Virus is a F**King awesome synth,You'll love it,I've been sequencing with Just that an the A6 and the Oasys,I'm working on a cover/remix of "Vintage"
