The build quality is correct. All metal casing and very hard to disassemble. A professional repair technician was unable to take it apart and reassemble it without breaking a screw inside the synth. And some holes also became unreachable for 2 or 3 screws... Or maybe the guy was just an @ss hole

BTW, comparing the ION with the 201 is sacrilege!

I have had a play on the SH-201, but not on a ION. I have heard samples from both and the ION sounds not only more analogue, but far better. The SH-201 was only on my list up until I heard the ION. I don't really want to spend £400 on a synth because it has 8 patches created by Jarre. I want something that will tick all the boxes, and so far the ION has done that, where as the 201 has not.

ION should be available at Turnkey. That's where I got mine.
The build quality is immense, the ION is as solid as a brick. I love it for that.

'Turnkey' were the first I tried. There site says they have 'low' stock of this item, but when I rang them today they said they would not be taking stock of any until mid Feb 2007

Nice price! The only that rests me is money . At the moment I have 1/15th of the price. But my birthday is coming....

No luck. . . . Thats 18 dealers of keyboards I have spoken too in the last 3 days.

From all those I have spoken too, Alesis don't have any in stock at all and will not be shipping any until late Jan/early Feb.

Just wait til then, seriously, I had to wait 3 months because of Digital Village / Digital Bastards. But it was DEFINITELY worth all the hassle and waiting.

Thats what I will be doing. I have placed an order this afternoon for one from 'Turnkey'. Roll on Feb.

Feedback here has at least 1 in stock in Rotterdam.

I have spoken to 6 companies over the last 3 days who websites say they have them in stock, to then be told that they don't actually have them. That's false advertising.

Why not call them ASAP?
