That's what I miss about todays music - mixes, megamixes, extended remix, remix, 12" remix, 7" remix. . . . and so forth. I remember when I would shoot down to my local music store and buy those special mixes - them were the days, sadly long gone

I don't like tracks I like being remixed in the way it happens today, Unless I like the track because of the remixers. Röyksopp does cool remixes, but so different from the original, that it's almost their own music.
I like a few of the remixes of JMJ's tracks. Sash did some cool stuff, maybe it's because of the complete remake just in another genre. I don't like these remixes where vocal lines are used for a boring remixes with only a beat and some other minimalistic stuff running for some minutes.
Dado did some cool remixes of Oxygene 8.
Those 80's remixes were also pretty cool, it's almost the same, just extended or something new added fitting the tracks well.

Like I mentioned earlier, Röyksopp can make good remixes, but they also just use very few elements of the original track, either they use some vocals or remake them with a vocoder. They also often do remakes of the melodies. I think they always end up making a remix that is so far from the original that they have made an whole new track and not a remix. I like this but that's because also because I like their musicstyle. They not just put a beat to it, they make a new hit with synth basses and leads. I haveno idea what would happen if they did a remix of a JMJ track.

The 1997 re-issue CD of Zoolook features the original versions of Zoolook & Zoolookologie.

The first CD issue of Zoolook didn't have the remixes and are very hard to find as they were pulled shortly after release. They then re-released it with the remixes. Since then different releases of the album have been issued with and without the remixes.
