Robbie, short lesson in democracy here.

When there are elections candidates exadurate the truth a little to get votes, it's not called lies but "election promisses" overhere.

All candidates do this and you have to decide who you trust more.

When in power they can't always meet those promisses, it's a proces called "compromising" and happens in every country that has democracy.

Elected PPL usualy have a term after wich they are candidates for another term, on that moment you tell them what you think of them by either voting for or against them.

In short, yes he lied, what's new, get over it and get rid of him next election. Hungary is no exeption in this compared to other democracies in this respect, but since you all are relatively new to the concept I hope you understand that it doesn't work like those rioters think. The fact that the current prime is an ex commie doesn't matter also since it's you all who voted for him to begin with, when it didn't matter then it shouldn't matter now....

It's a common misconception that democracy is the will of the PPL.

Democracy is a system where the PPL elect someone who they trust in doing their business for the next period, nothing more and nothing less then that my friend.

We have a saying here in my country though... Democracy is the will of the PPL, every morning I read in the paper what I want today....

Here we use to call it "election pork". I'm not sure exactly why but I guess it has something to do with the big promisses as mentioned.

Our government is only a few weeks old yet but there sure will be broken promisses if they aren't allready made. It's impossible for me to think they will stick to everything they have chattered about. As allways their "little trick" will be to transform what the promise really was all about in the beginning. Their slogan has been "more money in your wallets"! They will cut down all the taxes for "the small people" (but not as much as for the wealthiest.) In the same move they also cutting down on benefits and who needs benefits the most? They are going to sell all companies owned by our government so that we can have more private owners making money on the infrastructure or why not put it on the stock market. Sweet words like low prices and freedom to choose service for the customers due to the competition...well, "bull" is a finer word because it has never worked that way in this little country before...so why does it now?

...and I just hate it in silence.

A true lefty has spoken. Welcome to the gang Velodynamic. The only good thing about the right government of today is that it will wake the old farts of the social democrats up and they have to reform and rethink their world and never say again: Things are great the way they are. Because that is never going to work ever again. I am with you when it comes that it is really sad that they cut off the welfare-system for those who needs it the most.
