I bet its not all its cracked up to be owning that amount of gear,I mean in this day and age of computer audio and the 2 Hard disk machines she has,why the need for Multiple devices,I mean she has 6 Racks of the same waldorf synth???Why!!!!even if its only monosynths,she can easily get round the polyphony count problems by audio tracking???she has 2 16 or 24 track DAWs?????surely she doesnt create music with 48 audio channels every song????


I have 2 tritons which sometimes because of sequencer duties i could probably do with another Triton,but i get round it by audio tracking the sounds!!!so it frees up the lack of efx processing or external sequecning duties

It must a ballache maintaining the cabling,what happens if a midi cable line fails or stops working,Having loads of gear can be a joyous thing and with me having a pretty minimal setup compared to her sometimes having loads of gear can be a nightmare at times.Having to maintain a setup like hers must be a pain in the ass...

I agree for the great part with you all, Cikira is in my opinion more a collector than a composer or sound designer. The fact that she has more units of the same synth is a bit of an evidence to me.
Obviously the more synths one have the less is the time to spend with each one.
When I purchased the Wavestation back in 1992 I just had a W-30 and a Cheetah MS-6, so I spent my great time on it, to try to go deep into it, rather than browsing presets and tweaking a couple of knobs or parameters (like it may happen if you have a lot of gears - hardware or software)

Where I don't agree is that she is a VA "girl". She has several "digital" synths, the most are in rack format. For example Korg WS AD, Roland JD-990 (& the JD-800), a lot of E-MU morpheus and other "protei", a couple of Alesis ROMplers etc.
Then on the analog side she has Minimoog Voyagers, Oberheim Xpanders, Studio Electronics (ATC & SE-1), matrix 1000s, Dave Smith Evolvers, Alesis Andromedas. Plus the 6 Waldorf Pulse...
It's not the first user I see who stack several Waldorf Pulse synths, I don't know if it's to have a modular polyphony or to drive them with an analog-like hardware sequencer.

I agree that it's curious she never invested on a suitable mixing desk, at least a Mackie 32:8.

Yes I knew I was right but i also checked it. She does also have and Andromeda or two so it's not completely digital.
