You know, even if parts of the tracks weren't played live by Jarre, it is really annoying how "fans" attack the whole concerts' live value and question all those other parts that were clearly live or those played by the others. It appears there's nothing Jarre and his crew can do to make some 'fans' satisfied.

Fine, start thinking that the Marigny concerts were 100% playback, I'm not gonna let anyone like that bother me anymore.

Of course it wasnt :)

I'm not attacking concerts. But after Oxy LIYLR DVD i tought that JMJ will try to play all his parts live... That's why i feel a bit cheated You know what I mean?

Well JMJ was always perfectionist. As far as i know he's afraid of live playing...

Maybe Vangelis also. And a lot of keyboardist. But if he a musician, he must play Oxy 4 live. Even i could play that track...  :punch:

@Radek:

Yes, I understand the feeling and I must say I feel a bit disappointed with his decision to still fake some parts after remarking about most artists playbacking these days. And there's the part where he's a perfectionist, so it makes sense that he'd like to eliminate some of those incidents where the really disturbing mistakes could happen.

But still, fans know his past and its too easy for them to make a judgement like "all of those concerts were mimed!" which is also one reason why I haven't bothered checking the Space of Freedom forum about these subjects. As its still more of a successor forum to Jarre.net, I'll rather imagine all the "actually the Memorymoog incident was mimed as well" posts that probably linger around there and hope they won't ever get here. :peacemaan:

Not only is he afraid - he is absolutely uncapable of playing live everytime a fan is watching a video clip somewhere in the world. :smoke:

What if Radek is right? What if some parts actually are PB!! :o
Can I please touch you then mr. almighty perfect cover maker? :P

Ain't perfect cover maker ;)

btw here's little interesting thing

The main producer - Bilo - wanted to hire a coach for JMJ because he was totally unable to play even simple sequences/lead in tempo. Of course JMJ said that he doesn't want any coach at all. And he started to clean the synths ;)

ontopic on :P

JMJ's right place is behind the knobs and why not in a studio where he can create sound scapes. He's never been some kind of "wonder child" in playing notes on keys, there's nothing new in that. I just hope that ppl is respecting his artistic freedom to do whatever he likes with his creations at "live or pb" performances. :)

However I think this concept is 'more' live than ever before. :fine:

What pops up in my mind, is that he clearly play other parts live, which are more adcanced than Oxygene 4.
Anyway this topic is spread all over the forum now. We cannot discuss what JMJ is thinking and therefore I sudjest we leave this for now and return Ontopic. Mind that this thread is about the DVD and not the Marigny concerts.

more live than ever. it is true!
But if true what Radek says, then it is shame to hire somebody how to play right the notes.
For JMJ? For the composers of several electronic music? For his Oxygene?

If this is true (Radek, is this true?? ), then i think it over my musical admittance toward Jarre.
