The Moog manual is very light reading for Jean Michel.

I did as a kid.

Then, Jean Michel is still a kid at heart.

I wonder if Jarre counts MiniMoogs jumping over gates when he needs to get to sleep

I'm pretty much the same - I read heavy stuff when I wake up - 12 hours later, I can feel it kicking in whether I understood it or not... not that I have any objection to delayed responses/reactions to reading heavy stuff but you could easily replace that pic with one of me and a Windows Vista manual - except that the book would be open, I'd be asleep and the mug would be a 'Roland VS' mug (just because I have a black Roland VS mug - nothing more...)

On a slightly different note, Yamaha manuals are absolute nightmares... I've been reading a CS6x owners handbook since Dec 2000 and it still makes very little sense....... (partly because of the way some of it is worded....)
One day, I'll have some idea what its all about... it's just fun right now experimenting around... heck, the spine on it hasn't even been broke....

If that manual says "Moog Synthesizer", why is it a Korg MS-20 pictured on the book then?

didn't JM say he found a nice Moog (cook) book in that record store he mentioned earlier in his blog? As far as I can tell, its a soft cover book and thus, still looks **VEEERY** unused

He is trying to reach every leisure time slots among blogging and touring.

I get the impression that Jarre gets bored very easily. One possible reason why he's always on the "go"

It says Analog synthesizers..

Its a book by Mark Jenkins..and yes it is the facsia of the MS20 on the front.I have that Book
Its a good read for any synth head,goes into real depth about programming sounds,There's also a CD with it which gives you sound examples of the programming tips,and basically a history of synths,also goes into detail about soft synth developments too


its got a good comprenhesive section about Buying vintage equipment and some good interviews with amongst others Bob Moog and other developers of the vintage stuff(Oh and a reference to some french synth Geezer called Jarre???)its basically a reference to some classic synthesizer albums,Oxygene gets a mention
