Going back to what Equin(00)xe said, I think he is right.... a lot of the writing or "doodles" I am most proud of creating comes from happy accidents, or just allowing an idea to flow.... I am not sure how I did it... they just happen.
As for the album....it will be released when it is released....whenever that is....

..it will be worth the wait...
..... just remember patience is a virtue ( and an requirement of being a Jarre fan....

Having an idea about JMJ's personality :
he gets a Kick out of fans waiting in expectation, speculating, discussing any forthcoming album,
hence one reason for the delay.
To paraphrase Tur "He was boring with a new style & everyone though it was fantastic!"

Well its Promotion without actually promoting it....Its creates hype...tension,anticipation,this is quite more financially effective than actually going out and promoting it face value....I'm sure that this anticipation creates more sales on/Around the release date than at any other time after promoting it
Just look at the hype that surrounds other top artist releases, months before there even given a release date...

But, people get particular expectations, so he takes a risk. If it isn't what people expect, he will sell much less albums!

...or he will maybe catch some new listeners. I think many allready die hard Jarre fans have an existing album collection wich they wants to complete with this new album, no matter what...I know I will (even if I maybe not will admit it at first if I'm not fully satisfied with the result).
Peoples expectations has never stopped him before from creating new things or what he feels like to be doing.
@Robbie: Yeah what about 22 september? 11 september x2.

I doubt that, risk or not if the album is good it will sell regardless of public perception or expectation, but then again a real great album can also be a flop without the correct marketing /Promotion......Ok lets say Jarre's next album is a euro trance style would you not buy it on principle of it being not his usual style!!!Not really most fans will have it in the collection regardless.
many true listeners will shift or change with the Artists direction or change in style,Everything Jarre produced after Oxygene 7-13 is totally removed from anything he has done in the past yet he still has a hardcore of listeners both old and new,I would regard GOL as one of his finest albums even if its nothing parallel with Oxygene or Equinoxe....
Any artist takes a risk with a new album, and any artist who just creates something on the Premise of pleasing the fans is not a true artist, and is merely a commercial engine for financial gain,Jarre will have to promote it like its his best work ever and if he doesnt beleive that himself then its not an artistical view.
Many people like Jarre who have no financial incentive to make music will do things for themselves not an audience,if people like it then thats a blessing...thats why he's still around after 30+years of making music..

I can't find where this date has been published on the Aerozone site (the hompeage of that site has never been updated since february:since then they just put on line the french interview of Rimbert).
They're just rumours as the Aeroprod told that the album release is hopefully planned for december. Who is the information source of Aerozone by the way?
