If your gonna wash the Casing nico,you need to remove all the circuits 5 boards in total plus the LCD everything has to removed including the Joystick module and Ribbon sensor and Power supply and switches,its not a massive job but is quite intricate and care needs to be taken as to not damage the wiring harnesses,you can do it,

I dotn have any pictures of dissasembly as such, just a couple of shots of the inside,its not hard to dimantle but if your not compitent with such things I wouldnt attempt remove it...

Heres a little step by step,
1.Remove all knobs/Faders on the front panel
2.Open up the bottom plate(if you've still got the will to live after this....Loads of screws!!!!! )lift off the Bottom plate
3.Remove the Keyboard Subframe(about 4/5 screws in all i think) and 2 ribbon attachments on the keyboard contact board(these will slide out with a little care
4.remove the Joystick module(4 screws) and plug in socket(use some small pliers with care)(white module socket with 4 wires)
5.Remove the Ribbon retaining plate(4 black screws)lift out and be careful to remove the ribbon sensor,and then undo the screws on the Circuit next to the Joystick
6.Remove the Jack/Midi port board (3 screws on back panel)be careful to support it whilst undoing the screws(this will allow access to the 1 of the two main circuits)
7.undo the PSU unit (leave this in place for now)
8.carefully move the upper Main circuit and Midi jack board out of the way of the 2 lower (main circuits)then undo all screws on both boards(also remembe they have an Earth cable in a U shape tying them together,remeber to refit it as it was....
9.undo the Retaining screws around the LCD and slowly lift out....and place with the 2 main circuits,then slowly lift everything out together(circuits PSU)in one piece taking care not to let any wires break..
10.Remove all Buttons(remember which ones have LCD window function)

11.Your now free to wash the case(also remove all paper dust protectors Black circular ones for the Knobs and rectangle ones for the sliders...

Refit everything in reverse order...


Sounds easy,but make sure your confident before taking it apart,and take pictures of everything as you go,should you forget,you can recall the photos,(also keep the screws in sections,so you know which goes where as your dismantling it.....

Sure. But if i don´t get it to buy one, i´ll move the entire JP into a wooden housing and control the JP over a Master Keyboard. Me thinks that this even would be the only solution, if the faders (cutoff/reso/adsr etc) worn also out. -I- wouldn´t know where to buy them...

Replacing the Keyboard was -very hard-. No screw holes for the contact plates, the contact gum itself moved and moved....I didn´t made there a good job. But, what should i do....there were too much keys broken...

By Fatar you could buy keyboards to replace into your synth. They have got 3 types of keys: Organ, Keyboard and Synth (and that in a few variations. I like the one with wooden reversed keys!). But they are not very difficult to place. But it's a bit expensive to buy an entire new keyboard when you can buy also a second hand masterkeyboard for it.

Me thinks that a wooden housing would be a great replacement solution for the JP8000 housing. Nice, stable Pots, -good- switches, 5 mm LEDs...In fact i would have then a sort of JP8080, but in "70´s style".:
