I would buy the JP. Much cheaper, and the same functions, and more.

I dont think the intention was to remarket it as part of the JP series,although its pretty much the same machine..I think its more aimed to be an educational tool towards synthesis,but also to combine both software and hardware applications too..

I agree it certainly doesnt seem to have inhereted the JPs good looks,thtas what i like about the JP its a mean machine capable of some awesome sounds,but it looks the part as well....

I've always said that the JP is by far one of the best looking synthesizers ever made,although i wish they would have made the build quality to match,by using metal casings like the old Jupiters...

I think it's quite different indeed...

I don't think the SH-32 has the special oscillators which are the mainreasons why I like the SH-201.

Besides that, the SH-32 has other types of oscillators. They are some sort of based on samples. I don't know how that works, but I wouldn't touch it. Im probably just scraed because it is such a different system.

And still, the 201 sounds like old newspapers.

People says that it sounds too digitally others says the opposite, I still think it's a cool machine and I don't listen to other people I'll just by my own ears. If it sounds cool, I don't mind that it doesn't sound as analog as a Minimoog. It's not always about sounding analog, digital sounds good too.

I would say so yes but unfortunately you can't see the tempo value on the synth itself Anyway even though the JP has a knob instead ain't it based on exact values so there won't be any half tempo values etc.?

I guess it's just midi sends from 50 bpm until 250 bpm. Indeed, no half values
