Remember Edith was the one that said the music of the Bentley commercial was Jarre's.
Yes, I remember that is why I just mentioned maybe. Nothing is concrete until the "official announcement."

Who is this woman Edith? Who knows if that's true? There are so many people who think they know something, and know in reality nothing.
I find it is much more remarkable that he allegedly left Sony. On one hand I think it's better / more profitable if he is independent, or has its own Label again. On the other hand, such large companies commercialize artists of course much better.
We will see.........

The latter information has come direct from Edith who works for Jean-Michel. I can voucher for that. No hoax. It is just her view and all due respect for her for speaking out.

Yes I think I've seen more or less...ehrm..."competent" people working for JMJ through the years. Nothing against Edith though. :pwned:

With today's social medias any artist which is good at what he/she does should get their message through one way or the other without "the big guy's" promotion.
Besides how many people in the world with the slightest interest in electronic music today doesn't know who Jean Michel Jarre are?

Did he leave Sony? Why would he do that?

Or contract signed for remasters only?

IF so....I don't mind anyway, he can freely and independently release music.

I think it could be a bad translation. He could left the Berlin Sony office or something.

I agree ! And I hope it is. It is known that record companies try to squeeze their artists like lemons. Especially Sony has a bad reputation

Sony Music Entertainment is not in Berlin. They are in München. In Berlin Sony manages the classical music range......maybe JMJ is classic now !?

Can you imagine, guys, that albums release as digital download first on iTunes and some time later they get physical release?
Many bands prefer this way in recent years, just as an example, Duran Duran.

At this point just about every other artist on the planet is releasing new AND old stuff far better than JMJ is ... or ever has, now that I think about it.

Come to think of it, Kraftwerk isn't actually doing much better on that front either at the moment. Of course, Der Katalog (2009) was beautifully and properly remastered and their album concert tours (2012 onwards) are just a delight for everyone involved (tho' JMJ did it first with Oxygene ;) ). Even if technically only one original member of the band is left, but then again, it's the same situation with other old bands from the era like Deep Purple and whatnot.

But I've never ever understood why JMJ and/or his record companies are so reluctant to actually dish out proper releases these days, and if it's up to JMJ and his "perfectionism", well, that's just a damn shame.

Well if the remasters have proven one thing, than it's that his 'perfectionism' is worthless...
