I wonder what the attendance will be. I contacted ÖBB (Austrian Railways) asking them if they are considering running additional evening REX6 train services from Petržalka (close to the concert site) to Vienna, might get overcrowded...

I agree this could get very busy and become overcrowded.

I do find it a bit odd (and a worry) that this is a free to attend concert but also is ticketless. This is why I asked earlier in the thread about tickets. These days, most free to attend events require a ticket in order to manage numbers, provide security, ensure staffing is at the right level, number of first aiders and all the rest needed to make something run smoothly. They will also use the number of ticket 'sales' to ensure the space set aside for the crowd matches demand and they can then flex this as required, or put a stop on ticket 'sales' to control/limit numbers.

I know La Defense, Houston and Lyon were amazing successful events and were without tickets but I'm pretty sure they wouldn't be allowed to go ahead these days like that.

I am planning to attend with my daughter (aged 14) and we are looking now for flights from the UK and hotels but I am a little worried about an enormous uncontrolled crowd.

Being overcrowded can really be a little too much as such, however I think that - on security side - it's safer than being in any western city.

I doubt that 19:00, perhaps someone else will play support at that time. The sunset is around 19:40, makes sense for the JMJ concert to start at 20:00 (also that's when the live feed of the concert to the Main Square is supposed to start)

I read somewhere that he will have 2 musician-partners on stage.
