Glenn, great post, and when you sit back and think about it, it all starts to become clear.
Jarre in the past has been known to have his name put to tools he has used. Take for example the Kurzweil K2000. I remember seeing in a music magazine and advertisment for both Jarre (Images album) and the K2000 saying that this synth is Jarres recomended choice. So what other tools has Jarre used in the past that has had the same treatment as the K2000. We have seen the short vids released earlier this year of Jarre in his studio testing/talking about the SH-201 and MC-808.
Lookiong at it now, I feel Jarre and Tim made these patterns for Roland prior to the T&T album and that the T&T album is a fine example of a selling tool for them. Afterall, Jarre must know that people will go out on a whim and buy synths he has used in the past to get "that" Jarre sound. What a perfect time to do just that in the form of two new synths from Roland.
